It’s been kind of a rough week here at Man Boobz manor, so today, we’re just going to have a dubstep kitty video party. Watch as many as you dare. Talk amongst yourselves.
WARNING: Videos might induce seizure. Seriously, they might. Lots of flashing lights.
Kittens for all musical tastes!

Hmmm….sound like a certain group of exceptionally noxious internet trolls we know?
Wow…conspiracy theorist too huh?
Interesting indeed.
much smaller woman gets punched in the face, MRAs rejoice

dear lord the MRA shitstorm on the youtube video is both depressing and hilarious.
ACTIVISM!
I really hate “IT’S NOT MY FAULT!!!” when it is, in fact, their fault. I’ve known many good people who blame themselves for things totally out of their control, or for decisions that are totally understandable once you realize the circumstances. I’ve also known many good people with depression who blame themselves for many things that aren’t remotely their fault. I feel bad that they regret these things that really aren’t their fault. But choices that a person makes that are totally in their control and then they suffer the consequences of their actions? No sympathy whatsoever, plus I think they’re horrible human beings for trying to blame the rest of humanity on their poor choices.
I learned that the “I DIDN’T DO IT” defense when I clearly did do something didn’t work, and it was a painstaking process that resulted in many missed treats when I was child. Also, this same painstaking process taught me that actions have consequences*. Some people just really need to learn this.
*I’ve heard “actions have consequences” used in abortion debates, and it pisses it me off. Mostly because the person saying it is the type of (usually male) person who would try to weasel out of said consequences if they could, sticking someone (usually female) else with it. I don’t view sex as privilege to be earned, it’s just a fun thing people do, and you shouldn’t be saddled with a lifetime responsibility if you have sex. Also, these people clearly do not understand “actions have consequences” because using birth control (including abortion) is an action and the consequence is to have sex without worrying about pregnancy.
I feel a little bad for her, but not that much. If you persistently attack a person who is backing away from you, this kind of thing can happen. Ideally he would have used less force than this to make his “stop attacking me” point, but street altercations are rarely ideal. My personal approach to a moment like this was to block her shots until she hurt herself trying to hit me and took the hint, but you can only express that kind of reserve when the attacker is not a real threat (which appears to be the case in this video.)
If the attacker had been male, I think everyone would have reacted differently, and I’m not sure that this difference in treatment remains appropriate in 2012. Certainly I would not just block another man’s shots, I’d do my best to communicate to him, physically, that he should never attack me again, ever. (Mostly I’d get my ass kicked because I’m not much of a fighter.) But men… are not women. Equality is not androgyny, and Mars/Venus has a strong current of truth to it. I think violence is sometimes part of inter-male hierarchy and status, and women don’t normally participate in that kind of nonsense, so male attacker and female attacker are different situations even without considering physical capability. My feelings are conflicted here, it seems to me that the “never hit a woman back” taboo exists in a quantum state of both appropriate and not appropriate.
I’m curious to hear what people think about this issue.
You know, I think the video might have been legit self-defense; she was taking swings at the guy and he only hit her once; I’m not sure he meant to knock her out. It was overkill but it wasn’t massive overkill; he didn’t come back and hit her again when she was down or anything.
The way the MRAs are enjoying it is, however, not a celebration of self-defense. They just like seeing a woman get hit.
And it wouldn’t be an MRA site if this guy didn’t show up…
Just goes to show, MRA inactivsim consists entirely of men cheering women being beaten.
What I gotta ask is, if society collapses, where will these guys be “sitting back” exactly? Do they all have secret bunkers? I kinda doubt it.
Sounds reasonable to me Holly. In other news, you just taught me that more than one semicolon can be used within a sentence structure; I’m very excited, and can’t wait to try it out.
I don’t know. In the video it looks like her swings were pretty blatantly ineffectual. I don’t know if it was as much self defense as it was him getting tired of her swinging at him. Which I think is fine, but a hard shove or slap would have been sufficient. Clocking her seems overkill. Though, I’m pretty sure I feel that way because it’s a woman attacking a man. I’ve been around similar situations where it was two men or two women and just laughed, but I get really uncomfortable when the fighters are not of the same gender.
@Dracula
They’ll probably be sitting back because of the sudden increase in people that feel comfortable knocking them on their asses for the shit they say. But atleast they’ll be able to say I told you so.
huh that’s weird. Do youtube videos get caught in moderation hell?
I think that if you try to attack someone you should expect them to fight back, whether you’re a man or woman. So I don’t feel that bad for her. Nevertheless, it was overkill. If it was a bigger woman I’d understand but come on look how small she is, and she wasn’t brandishing a weapon and there were other ways to better deal with the situation such as restraining her or a hard shove. MRAs know this. They know she can’t hurt him but being the sick fucks they are, they get off on seeing women being hit by men. Like Holly said they’re not celebrating self defense, they’re celebrating uppity women getting their comeuppance for not adhering to their feminine gender role. Meanwhile men fighting is just normal and if this was a fight between two men they wouldn’t be celebrating like this. It’s not a fair fight and they know it.
This is what really bugs me about situations like these. In general…not always, but in general, men are physically stronger than women. Particularly in upper body strength. MRAs never shy away from smugly proclaiming that men are stronger than women, but then in the next sentence they pretend that as many men are severely injured or dead or feel as much fear because of their female wives or girlfriends who commit DV on them. Its bullshit and even the studies they favor acknowledge this.
I’m not saying any of this to excuse female on male (or female on anyone) violence. It is just as wrong and should be condemned. However in this instance it was overkill and there was a big size difference. It was not a fair fight.
@Dracula
I hate their smarmy, condescending attitude. The way some MRAs write is reminiscent of those highschool snots that think they’re so much better than everyone else when in reality everyone can’t stand them because they’re such arrogant douchebags.
Hey MRAs? keep dreaming. If society collapses (which it most likely wont and if it does its not because the wimminz got out of line) you’re going down like everybody else. You are not special no matter how much you think you are. Get over yourselves.
“I too am resigned to collapse. I certainly don’t think it’s a good thing though, it’s definately going to fuck my retirement up, and probably cut my life much shorter then it would otherwise be. But then again, if things roll on like they are……so will that. There are two giant shit sandwiches, one of them is going to be fed to all in society….or….an even bigger one will be fed to just men. The man only shit sandwich is business as usual, including increased misandry and feminist governance, the other shit sandwich that will be shared by all, is called collapse. That’s the only thing that can stop the madness. So I vote for collapse.” (5 +, 0 -)
I always get a kick out of seeing MRAs indulge in their ultra-libertarian fantasies about “The Endtimes”. I usually only see this kind of talk over at The Spreadhead but I guess those guys have been passing the Kool-aid around freely.
Also, you gotta love the MRM’s stalwart commitment to non-violence:
Violence is bad, unless you deserved it.
“The wimminz and their voting and child support….this is madness!!!”
“No. This is FEMINISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
sorry…couldn’t help it XD
I’m guessing the ‘feminist governance’ bit is like the shadow government. Sure, it LOOKS like there’s been massive resistance to covering contraception in insurance plans, and it LOOKS like Congress made a gross display of sexism by only having a group of old white men talk about women’s health, but that’s all meant to distract you!
I need to go get some more foil for my hat. It’s starting to fall apart.
@Crumb
Check out these “gems” from the Spearhead article on the subject hxxp://www.the-spearhead.com/2012/03/03/rush-misses-point-in-slut-controversy/
Castrate men in western countries LOL!!!
This will fix ALL problems..
See what I did there?
Punishing women and making them suffer. That is the goal of the MRM.
Feminist governance is simply their term for something that is stopping them from enslaving and punishing women.
Wait, women shouldn’t have birth control and should be punished for getting pregnant?
Also, rrrrrrggaaarrrghhh at everyone saying “paid to take birth control” or “paid to have sex” or whatever. She’s paying into a health plan! She’s not getting money for birth control, she’s getting her own money back for her birth control!
@Holly
I know, it’s the same BS argument as “birth control will make students have sex!”
And once again I ask….why is okay for men’s viagra and vasectomies to be covered but not women’s birth control?
