creepy pedophiles oh sorry ephebophiles rapey reddit

Redditor: The best way to stop the abuses of the child porn industry is to legalize it.

Really, really not okay.

It’s Defend Pedophilia Day on Reddit, as it is every last Wednesday of the month day. Here’s an SRS thread covering some of the creepiest creepery in the latest round of Reddit Pedopologia. For example, these comments, from a fella calling himself Sirhotalot:

Child pornography is a multi-billion dollar international industry for a reason, people enjoy it. Humans are the most sexual creatures on the planet, the second is our closest relative the bonobo ape. Kids and adults have been having sex since before the dawn of man. If you want the rape and the kidnappings to stop you legalize it and take it out of the hands of the black market. Prohibition doesn’t work.

Yep, that’s right, he’s arguing that the best way to stop the abuse of children inherent in the production of child porn is to legalize it. And he got more upvotes than downvotes for his cheerful child porn apologetics.

After thinking the issue over a little more, Sirhotalot returned with an reassessment of sorts:

Edit: I was wrong about the child porn industry.

Yes, yes you were.

Apparently it’s actually quite small.

Yeah, that’s really not the main problem with your child porn apologia. The main problem is that IT IS A CHILD PORN APOLOGIA.

Admission: I kind of thought you guys were making it up/exaggerating about AntZ and VR, etc., since I haven’t been around here and was too lazy to go back and find the posts where he talked about it. That’ll teach me to doubt you! 🙂

Out of respect for David I’m refraining from writing something that would make Boondock Saints look like Sesame Street.

That said, I read a article recently wherein a federal prosecutor coined a term I now prefer in regard to child pornography. Ze referred to child pornography as “child sexual abuse imagery” which is a much more accurate description. Ze referred to it that way throughout the trial.

That’s OK, it’s easy to get confused around here because there are several ways in which we quote one another.

That was a very fine post! Thankyou so much for being so brave and telling us.

Ugh, you know, this is kind of why I don’t stop by here very much. On the one hand I enjoy David’s humour and these things need mocking and there are people here I’d like to stick around and get to know better.

On the other hand I can really get through my day more easily without knowing about shit like this.

Revolting.
In no other way I can describe this. If this is not an example that these people should be put away so they can’t hurt anyone, I don’t know what is.

I think the bit about “rape and kidnappings” is rather, uh, telling. Legalizing CP isn’t going to stop a rapist from raping and/or a person from kidnapping. There’s many reasons why raping and/or kidnapping occur and many of those reasons have nothing to do with CP being legal or not.

And my mind is boggling at how fucked up this guy is. There are no words…

Generally, in fact, MRAs are hysterical over love affairs and dalliances between adult women and underaged teenage males. Virtually all MRAs vilify women as “rapists” and “pedophiles” for allowing biological men under age 18 to penetrate them in de facto consensual relationships, sex equality dogma taken to lunatic extremes, and are outraged that such women aren’t sentenced to 5 or 10 or 20 years in prison in a country in which the average time-served for murder (including nonngegligent manslaughter) is less than 6 years and the average time-served for all violent crimes is approximately 4 years. And men, who commmit over 90% of violent crimes, are by far the primary beneficiaries of this systematic indulgence. See, for example, the demented Elam’s “registerher.com.”

Ooh, Michael K is back! Michael, wasn’t it you who came here blathering on about how vaginal penetration was the only real “rape” rape, and nothing else is severe enough to merit the term? Much like you were wrong then, you’re wrong now! Children can’t meaningfully consent, be they male or female or anything else.

The only thing close to right in that paragraph is the part about Elam, and even then, he’s not demented, just an extreme asshole.

Ah, what anybody involved in sex worker’s rights and fighting anti-porn legislation hears. What about child pornography! Surely this is a slippery slope! Surely you have no defense against the same arguments used for child pornography! Oh, what you have wrought!

And there’s a very simple answer to that, and it’s that no, it’s not a slippery slope to being okay with child rape. At all. There’s not really a slippery slope that leads to that. Sure, this guy can be using rational legalization arguments about child rape, but he could just as easily be saying it was the will of space Jesus. It’s still not a slippery slope. Sorry, puritans and child -porn advocates.

@hellkell, good point. Actually, he managed to work “hysterical,” “lunatic” AND deranged in there. Were you playing “marginalize the mentally ill” Bingo, Michael? If so, did you win??

He also said “biological men” to mean… cis men? Cis men and trans women? That’s a little sketchy.

By “a little sketchy” I mean “that seems deeply problematic to me, but I can’t really articulate why, so I feel like I should leave it to people actually affected by transphobia to say anything if they wish instead of trying to define it for them.”

I assumed that this article was a part of a feminist campaign to lay the groundwork for legal prohibition of VR relationships.

This is the funniest thing I’ve heard all day.

Unfortunately it’s sandwiched in the middle of a thread of completely horrifying.

Thanks to Antz’s comment, I’m now picturing Judge Dread stomping on an Otaku’s computer, screaming, “I AM THE LAW!!!”

(Or wait…shouldn’t that be Judge Susan?)

lol @ Space Jesus

True story: I was in a hospital once, and I talked to a guy who believed that the Hubble Space Telescope is actually a giant laser, made to try to incinerate Jesus if he ever comes back to Earth.

Sorry, NWOSlave, but someone has you beat.

Wow, I’ve heard some stupid shit before, but giant space laser takes the cake. Wouldn’t be it way less suspicious and way more efficient to just have him quietly murdered? People are gonna notice a huge fucking laser beam from space.

Also… that logic is deeply flawed on so many levels but mainly: access to pornography or opportunity to purchase sexual acts are not making rape or selling people nonexistent. Hell, the statistics paint entirely different picture. Women, men and children are kidnapped, raped and killed, though for the first legal access to prostitutes exist. So… nope, not working.
Second… I have no idea on what these people base their idea that kids exploring their own sexuality is the same as “being able to consent or have the maturity or enter a sexual relationship with another person, especially an older one”… the fact that they are failing to distinguish these two is troubling, to say the least.
(If this has already been said, sorry, just… to creeped out to read the previous comments. I know the blog has the regular creepers and lurkers and I can’t bear to read them and their attempting fails to somehow justify this.).
