Congress hears testimony on contraception: Once again, men have to do all the work!

Hard-working dudes, talkin bout contraception.

So  there was a congressional hearing yesterday about contraception, and, once again, men had to do all the work. Not a single lady on the panel! They were probably all eating bon bons and riding the cock carousel, like ladies do. Misandry in action!

Well, to be fair, the chair of the committee blocked a woman who was going to testify on the panel, but, you know, she probably would have just started yammering about shoes and how hot Taylor Lautner is. You know how ladies are.

Just another day in the feminazi gynocracy!

Seriously FF, the word you’re thinking of isn’t “vandalism”, it’s “arson”.

Unfortunately, I know very little about VAWA or hate speech laws as currently constituted, but I have opinions on how they should be anyway. 🙂 I think hate speech should not be illegal in any way (it is free speech after all), but that schools, employers, etc. have a duty to have their employees not have a hostile environment, which means forbidding certain kinds of language on the job or at school. I also think that domestic violence language should be gender-neutral and that gendered funding should be proportional to how many people of each gender are abused.

I think if you wandered the streets saying “I’m an MRA” you’d get a 90% response rate of “What’s that?”

Now I totally would wander the streets saying “I’m a brony.” I’ve also considered randomly telling strangers “You remind me of the babe” to see how they respond.

90%? You overestimate their exposure, Katz XD

I’m pretty sure Bronies have more influence; at least they got changes made to a TV Show XD

Exactly. And it’s kind of nervous-making that his mind just jumped straight to molotov cocktails instead of, you know, posters.

I’ve met tons of meatspace bronies and no meatspace MRAs. Make of that what you will.

The Republican party should put one of the mane six on the ballot. With their current selection of knuckleheads running, that’s their only chance against Obama.

Sharculese

Okay, that said, you’re a moron. VAWA is in trouble because Republicans are bigoted bastards and they don’t like LGBT language included in it. They’re also on record (on video, no less) confessing that their strategy during Obama’s entire term is to block every legislation they can to purposely torpedo his governance and make him a one term president. Period. Talk about hubris, thinking the MRM had ANYTHING to do with this! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

if the lgbt language actually turns out to be toxic, it’ll be excised. no effort will be spared in re-authorizing vawa because a) it’s important, b) it’s the marquee achievement of the sitting vice president, and c) contrary to wait mras believe, it’s not actually controversial

mras took a victory lap because language was removed from a draft version of the re-authorization that was never submitted to the committee. the degree to which they dont understand the legislative process is stunning

You know, misogynists are everywhere – lurking in the allies, hiding in your cars – even hidden in your walls!

I read this as “hidden in your wallets.” Aha! Now I know who keeps stealing the free coffee off my Starbucks cards! LOL.

I hate it when misogynists are lurking in my allies, though. You aren’t really my ally if you hate women, y’know? (Extra Credit Question: were there misogynists lurking in the Axis too? Show your work.)

Sharculese

vawa was re-authorized without a problem in 2005, at the height of republican power. if mras think the results will be different with the law’s author living at number one observatory circle, theyre delusional

FWIW, I’d much rather have that LGBT-protecting language in VAWA. But I think Sharculese is dead on.

This isn’t the pet pig burning. It’s more like one of the pet pig’s many piglets falling and scraping its adorable piglet kneesies. Unfortunate, and better for the piglet if it didn’t happen, but not actually harmful to the pig.

And I’m sure none of these hard working dudes when discussing contraception even mentioned vasectomies.
They want to be able to spread their seeds and then move on to the next and spread some more seeds, but they also want women to stop being loose and stop having babies out of wedlock but they don’t want women to have birth control. But again they want to spread their seed. This round robin of what MRA and conservative dudes want is illogical. Spock nods his head, illogical.

but it’s their biological imperative doncha know! the other half of the human race who aids them in their biological imperative are just dirty sluts though.

*shaking my head*

they better have been discussing the male pill. Somehow I doubt it.

Day 7 on the alien planet. Nope. Nothing changed. Just a group of folk terribly chuffed with themselves and each other at their pithy comebacks at turds who would like to see them permanently hurt. That’ll change the world. Good stuff.

7 days? damnnnn

if you can’t stand this place why not just leave?

I mean seriously though, this place isn’t going to change, and people aren’t going to leave. The only way you will be happy is if this place closes down which its not.

You seem to think that women are better off ignoring misogyny and sucking it up while we think suck displays should be mocked and called out. Most feminists (assuming you aren’t a mra or a troll) talk about misogyny to some extent to point out the flaws in this misogynist society. Apparently you think feminist would be better off not mentioning it? because otherwise we embrace it?

I have to ask this again, do you think most feminist sites embrace and support misogyny because they talk about misogynist things they hear and mock/debate misogynist points? All feminist sites are pretty much like this even ones in the radfem hub.

So what is your problem with this site in particular?

I continue to be puzzled about why Sandra sticks around. Many Internet people have hobbies I find disturbing (My Little Pony porn, WHY?), so I just avoid the websites that contain them.

FACT: Women were the ones who did all the work and activism to get birth control developed, recognized, legalized and distributed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Sanger

FACT: MRAs haven’t created or did activism for the male pill, they just sit around spouting paranoid garbage on the internet about feminists suppressing it. Anything that keeps you shits from reproducing is fine by us.

Fact: MEN invented women’s contraception.

Yeah, and men have also fought like hell to ensure women can’t access contraception. Still are, in fact.

So what’s your point here, Buttguy? Men giveth and men taketh away? Fuck that.

I was trying to remember what made FactFinder stand out from the misogynist crowd – was he the one who tried to convince us that his terrific hotness made him right? But how could I forget Preggo Punchout?

FactIdeologue/whatever you’re calling yourself now, I’ll repeat my advice to you from the last time you showed up: go call your mother and apologize to her for growing up to be a worthless sack of shit who thinks pregnant women being punched in the belly is funny.

Anyway, I can’t even respond to the OP. Contraception is controversial now? Really? 99% of USian women use it at some point in theie lives and it’s controversial?
