Men oppressed by not being allowed to bitch about ladies in public restrooms

I'm pretty sure this happens more often than conversations in men's restrooms

A startling new development on the frontiers of anti-male oppression. According to the loquacious lady MRA known as girlwriteswhat on Reddit, men are being oppressed by evil feminist dudes cruelly clamping down on their right to bitch about ladies in the bathroom. In a recent comment she writes:

No space is allowed to be male-only, or male-viewpoint-only, but women insist on female-only or female-viewpoint-only spaces all the time.

The only male safe space left on the planet is the men’s bathroom, ffs. And even then, there will be feminist-leaning men policing what is said. It’s very frustrating.

As a dude feminist who is a regular user of men’s restrooms, I should note that dudes do not actually talk in restrooms.

Happily, this does not prevent me, as a dude feminist, from policing the non-existent speech of other dudes in said restrooms.

Here is the complete transcript of a restroom discussion I recently policed:

Dude One: [silently urinates]

Dude Two: [silently urinates]

Dude Three: [silently poops]

Me: Goddessdamnit, keep it down with all your lady-bashing! Men are bad!

Always glad to help.

HT to Shit Reddit Says, which has just ended its month-long moratorium on r/mensrights posts, for pointing me to girlwriteswhat’s observation.

How many volumes has the list reached so far?

@Moewicus:

Of course MRAs are upset by the image of a woman fighting back against harassment and sexual objectification.

Someone is clearly not familiar with Male Restroom Etiquette. Fortunately someone has taken it upon themselves to provide an instructional video.

I just can’t get my head around why anyone would think it’s okay to touch or otherwise molest someone based on what their wearing. It’s so outside the norm among the people I associate with on a day to day basis. Most of my friends, male and female, have seen me nearly if not completely naked and I don’t think they would even consider touching me without my consent. I just don’t get it and the fact that I see the opinion expressed so often really scares me and makes me want to retreat into my bubble of friends and not deal with the outside world more and more.

I’ve seen some of her youtube videos and she speaks really well. I also pretty much agree with her stance on male reproductive rights. I completely disagree with her views on rape though. On her blog she engages in the same victim blaming, “oh rape is not so bad a crime” thinking that most, if not all, MRAs engage it. Its disgusting and especially confusing coming from someone who says she’s been sexually assaulted and harrassed at work to the point of quitting, yet she shits all over the feminists who fight against these things. Way to bite the hand that feeds you.

Which reminds me, MRAs want society to acknowledge male victims of rape…a totally reasonable request. Yet they want women to shut up about their rape. They want feminists to shut up about rape culture- a culture that actually perpetuates the idea that men can’t be victims of rape. They insist on victim blaming. This makes NO sense. It is not reasonable to say “shut up about rape, its mostly false accusers anyway, but think about the male victims” Why not just band together to stop rape period? oh yeah…because they’re MRAs. They could care less about women, unless said women completely renounce all feminism and pretend the crap women have to go through doesn’t exist

Also in the GMP article she talks about proving herself, proving her credentials to the MRM because they don’t trust women. Yet would it be appropriate for a black person to prove themselves to a bunch of racists? to prove that they aren’t like those other crime-causing, rap-loving blacks? no. Because that would be racist and downright offensive.

It’s also interesting how she’s a divorced single mother with custody, the worst offenders to MRAs, yet the accept her. Whatever though, if she feels comfortable being around angry misogynists all day who think its acceptable to regard all women with contempt because some have been screwed in a divorce and are angry, then its her choice. That wouldn’t be acceptable with race though.

And yes, a woman’s body is not public property even if she is wearing a go-go dancer’s costume. It is neither right nor socially acceptable to start randomly touching or harassing people simply because they exist. People with common sense realize this.

That Reddit comment is the worst thing GWW has said. I had thought maybe she meant well in saying she supports men’s issues but now I can see she’s just a female misogynist like Ann Coulter or Sharon Angle.

You and me both. Not only with that, but with all the other horrid things MRAs and PUAs say about women and even the way they describe men.

I’m pretty much convinced that Girl Writes What is falsifying this whole persona to sell her books (aka the Ann Coulter plan for success). I’d investigate further, but my god she’s boring.

@Quackers: GWW said that Elam and the MRAs accept her because she didn’t receive any money from her ex at all, unlike those awful conniving feminist bitches that receive alimony. This is also why she thinks of herself as self-sufficient, while at the same time arguing that women overall are not self-sufficient.

My first thought was “the judge lives in the community, the chances of her not realising that the economy sucks that badly is nil.” The second was “if there has been some issues in the past, the judge probably already knows the parties and knows that the father is not that great of a parent. That typically means that even without the prep, the judge probably was not going to make a different decision.”

“I’m pretty much convinced that Girl Writes What is falsifying this whole persona to sell her books.”

Do you realize that nobody knows who she is? Her pen name is a secret between her and God. Kind of tough to buy her books when I don’t know who she is.

In any case, it is a very interesting new twist on “blame the victim.” No MRA that I am aware of has ever accused someone of intentionally getting raped in order to “sell books”. Nice work, there.

Hey Zarat: You, of all people, have no place accusing others of victim-blaming.

Go play with your VR sexbots.

Accusing someone of lying: very very different from saying she was “intentionally getting raped”.

@Crumbelievable

I really want to know the exact number of women that receive alimony. My mom never got alimony or the house. Another friend refused child support for her kid but the judge enforced it anyway. Another friend is not getting a cent from her kid’s father because he disappeared nor does she want it. And not only alimony, they also think child support means women are not self-sufficient. It’s MONEY FOR YOUR FUCKING KID. Money you would still be paying if you were still married. Argh!

I don’t care…do away with alimony and child support, but there better be another way to make sure children and newly single mothers who stayed at home during the marriage aren’t rotting in the streets. Social security programs, extra money for single parents, better child care services…whatever. Either way even if child support and alimony are done away with, MRAs will STILL bitch about the now horrible single mother government welfare suckers.

No one here has accused GWW of intentionally getting raped in order to sell books. Stop making stuff up.

Thank you.

My God, this is 90% of the MRM! A feminist who supports shared physical?!? What are you doing here? We need you, Quackers! Abandon these boobz and join the MRM!

Eh, hate to say it, but I’m in agreement with Zarat. I see no reason to think that GWW is lying about her experiences. Unless Magnesium is saying that he/she thinks GWW is creating a pro-MRM persona to sell books, I find the statement problematic too.

Man, she makes me feel bad about wanting to encourage more women into the games industry. I mean, I was only one woman in a class of 50 but surely that’s enough, right? I should probably dismount my high horse and ignore all my concerns. For the menz!

I misread AntZ earlier. I don’t see any reason to take Magnesium’s post the way he did, but I do find it problematic. So yeah, not victim blaming, but still over the line.
