It’s almost impossible to catalogue all the ways men are oppressed by women in contemporary gynocratic society. There are so many! For example, did you know that men are oppressed by female characters in video games? I know, right? The last bastion of red-blooded manliness, invaded by imaginary ladies!
Luckily, the fellows at MGTOWforums.com are on the case, exposing this foul virtual misandry. I Am started off a recent discussion on the subject by asking

I see a new trend in the video/computer game world and that is the increase in strong playable female characters.
Now, I am no hardcore gamer but I do play computer games often and the recent one I have been playing recently is Shogun 2 total war. Now for those who don’t know what this game is, it is a strategy game based on the military of feudal Japan. I recently bought an upgrade for the game the other day and guess what one of the strongest military units was? Nuns. I shit you not. The nuns had an attack 20% -40% higher than most units in the game. Somehow I doubt that in real life a nun would have swung a sword or used a spear faster and harder than a feudal warlord, and this game was based on history.
Clearly nuns are incapable of manlike swordplay, though it is true that they are capable reenacting famous internet panda sneeze videos. (I have seen video proof of this.) But Shogun 2 does not depict them sneezing like pandas. It depicts them fighting.
This is an outrage because video games are meant to be a perfectly accurate reflection of reality. Obviously there is nothing even slightly unrealistic about any of this:

I call bullshit on this subject. Video games are the last place for guys to hang out and now women are taking over. Why not just save us the trouble and instead of eliminating our fantasy world just throw us in work camp to provide for thier bastard children (literally speaking) while they shit all over us…wait they already do that.

Exactly! By contrast, the male characters in Gears of War 3 are all completely accurate representations of real-world men.

At the very least, female characters should be depicted as carriers of cooties.
Despite the very serious subject matter – video game misandry is never funny! – Xtc tried to lighten the mood with a little humor:
It would be hilarious to portray the female characters realistically. If you chose the female character in your FPS [First Person Shooter] she would have to move very slowly, dragging the gun around. You could build in some extra shake to the crosshairs to represent hopeless accuracy. Every time you needed to reload your gun, instead of just pressing a button, you’d have to find a male character and go through some flirting dialogue options to persuade him to do it for you. One out of every four missions the game would tell you that you were sitting out this one due to ‘women’s issues’.

I remember about 12 years ago playing the Baldur’s Gate rpg series and there were some romance dialog paths between your character and some of the women who could join your group but you had to treat them very nice. You couldn’t give them any attitude or make fun of them otherwise it would be over.
Basically you have to be a total mangina towards women in most games if you want to bed them.

I did that too. I would also build a swimming pool, get my Sim to go inside and then remove the exit stairs. They couldn’t get out, so they starved to death.
And yet, people don’t really think of The Sims as a violent game, go figure.
My stepsister’s favorite Sims game was to build a huge, elaborate house without a single bathroom. We would then watch all the Sims get progressively more miserable before finally peeing in a corner somewhere.
This is making me realise that no matter how ‘girly’ the aims of the game are, they would have to offer zero freedom for Meller to approve of them. Which would make them shit games. It’s unavoidable because with freedom comes the freedom to pursue decidedly unfeminine goals. And he can’t have that.

That too. In Sims 3 I’d create daredevils and tell them to play with fire in the fireplace. They’d happily play and play and the next thing you know their mood is dropping mad fast cos they’re burning to death. Sim games bring out some really fucked up shit out of people. I’d never heard of it, so I looked it up and found this description of the gameplay:
Your grandmother has left you in charge of her home while she is on vacation. You take on the task of babysitting the kids she usually babysits. You start off babysitting one child, and as your clients grow so do your placement. You are asked to take regular babysitting test to gain your license. Your advisor, which is a talking stork, helps you along the way by defining the different signals the baby makes. You must feed, bathe, change, entertain, and put to sleep the baby. When you get the highest degree in babysitting as possible you beat the game. You can play several mini games including vacuuming, pushing the babies in their swings and trimming the hedges. Babysitting also can earn you money which you can then spend on toys, paint etc.
I think I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than play a mind numbingly boring game such as that. Games are to be a fantasy…. an escape from the oft-times drudgery of reality, not to wallow in it.
Because the “natural” feminine is highly unnatural for some (but by no means all) women. That’s why folks like yourself have to rail about how women are supposed to be, because it’s not a natural proclivity for all women.

DKM: Why the aversion to the natural feminine?
Breathing is natural. Human beings cannot live without breathing. Nobody has to be taught to breathe.
If “the natural feminine” were indeed NATURAL, all the girly-girls would behave that way natural as breathing. “Natural femininity” would not have to be taught, would not have to be maintained through legislation, or other social control mechanisms.
The fact that many women have rejected a number of the characteristics YOU associate with “the natural feminine” PLUS the HISTORICAL fact that the characteristics of “femininity” and “masculinity” have changed over time and across cultures tends to prove for those of us living in the Reality Plane that gender is socially constructed. You should be happy about that because I doubt doll collecting is seen as “the natural masculine” by many.
Or as one of my students once said, getting hungry and needing to eat is NATURAL. Table manners are socially constructed.

Thing i never get about the whole Appeal To Nature: if something was truly in my nature, I’d do it. I wouldn’t need to be told. You don’t need to teach a dog to bark, you don’t need to convince a cat to meow, you don’t need to browbeat a guinea pig into making those “vrrrrt vrrrt” noises. It’s a natural behavior so it naturally happens.
If women are not doing a behavior, we can conclude from that evidence alone that it is not a natural behavior for women.
It was the unnaturalness of “natural femininity” (amongst other things, such as the social control mechanisms put in place to enforce “natural femininity”) that eventually resulted in feminism; feminism did not cause “natural femininity” to be viewed as unnatural.

It is true that different communities and cultures had somewhat different expressions fo masculinity and femininity. It is also true that EVERY human community had–and has–different, and sometimes opposite, means of expression of gender personality. NO community exists, and no community probably even CAN exist, where men and women, from birth onward, are absolutely equal, and show NO differences! The manifestations are largely cultural, but the differences themselves are biologically intrinsic and fundamental!

How do you know certain toys are girls’ toys? How do you know certain role models are “masculinized”? How do you know certain subjects are boys’ subjects?

DKM, as a child I was given a variety of toys to play with, which included Barbies, My Little Ponies, Jurassic Park dinosaurs, and building block sets. No one stood over me and “forced” me to play with one over the other, so without any guidance I would often mix-and-match toys. The T-rex would sometimes sport one of Barbie’s dresses or the Barbies would ride the Little Ponies. And I still ended up as queer as queer can be! 🙂
