A lot of my problem, I think, comes from the fear of possibly making it awkward. I’ve been in a few situations where i’ve tried to slide a hand down the pants of a girl and she turns timid. This is after some over-clothes touching, or pressure with my thigh. Warming them up, i think, is not the major problem. Obviously if a girl says no, i’m not going to push through with it because that’s when it gets awkward.

I’m average in size there, so them not noticing is not an issue. I feel like I almost have to physically take their hand and place it on my junk in order to make it happen. Yes, because “we shouldn’t be doing this” is such an ambiguous statement. It could mean anything! It probably is just girl-code for “we should be doing this, so please grab my hand and put it on your dick.”

I miss good Asian food since I moved from Seattle to Boston. I thought that since this is a major, multicultural urban sort of place I’d still be able to get good teriyaki and pho.
Nope. There are a few good places for pho, but teriyaki as it’s made in Seattle just doesn’t seem to exist here. No one even knows about Seattle teriyaki here.
On the plus side: way better bars and bar food here.

Depends on what bar you went to in terms of bar food. I was mostly in Ballard/QA, so there were options.

I love me some dive bars. Primarily we’d go to the Viking in Ballard, because it was in stumbling distance from the house. That and the Smoke Shop were where old fishermen went to die.
I miss good fish since moving from the West Coast to the mountains. You can get a decent piece frozen, but there’s nothing like Granville Island’s fish market.
The only bar in Seattle I really got to like was Ubertavern near Ballard. I love the fancybeers!
I think it also makes a difference that in Seattle I was friends with a lot of non-drinkers and here I have more beer-friends, so maybe this has more to do with my personal experiences than with the two cities. But Boston definitely has a particular breed of cozy, homey Irish pub that Seattle doesn’t.
I really miss Than Brothers Pho though. Man I could just eat a bathtub of that stuff.
Can I come over too? Homemade teriyaki is so much better than even the best restaurant version. In fact as much as there are plenty of good restaurant-style Japanese places here, and lots of goos sushi, home style Japanese food is much thinner on the ground. You can find it, but you have to know where to look.
I miss all the nabemono-type dishes that my best friend from college used to make when it was cold in London.
Another thing I forget to mention about Cafe Tibet – bod-jha. Black tea churned with milk, butter, and salt. It’s awfully filling, but it’s the best thing ever on a really cold day when you want to warm up and feel cozy quickly.
Sure Cassandra, when he does his teriyaki chicken, he makes enough to feed an army. In fact, we’re kicking around the idea of opening a food trailer and doing it Hawaiian style (where he’s from): teriyaki, rice, and mac salad. Haupia for dessert.
Than Brothers was my go-to when I was sick.
Gourmet food trucks are a big thing here, are they where you are too?
Hell, yes. Austin has a ton of them. There’s a couple parking lots not far from where we lived that are devoted to them, and they’re also in random spots throughout the city.
My favorite wierd ones here are Curry Up Now (chicken tikka burritos) and Kung Fu Tacos (tacos with Korean BBQ).
