Well, here’s a new twist. We all know, from reading the endless tirades on the subject scattered all over the manosphere, that women are evil, selfish and ungrateful creatures whose primary goal in life is to leech off of men and make them miserable.
In a recent post titled Playing Career Woman, manosphere blogger Dalrock takes on some of the most evil and selfish ladies of the whole lot of them: upper middle class ladies who insist on going to college and getting jobs, then later leave the workforce to raise their children.
You might think that these ladies would deserve some props from traditional-minded manosphere dudes for supporting themselves instead of leeching off of men during their twenties, then settling into a more traditional housewifely role once they have children.
Oh, but you don’t realize just how evil and disruptive and oppressive their phony careers are to the men of the world. After all, these aren’t women who need to work to support themselves. No, according to Dalrock, these are “women who use their education and career as a way to check off the box to prove their feminist credentials before settling down into an entirely traditional role.”
According to Escoffier, a commenter on Dalrock’s site whom he quotes with approval, in the good old pre-feminist days:
Women who pursued careers (apart from traditional female roles such as teaching … ) were considered at best sort of harmlessly odd … but we know that family life is superior and more important.
Then came feminism:
Now it’s “You MUST do this for own sake, not to do it is to not realize your potential.” …
The way the [upper middle class] has “solved” this problem is to send girls to college, let them launch their careers–whether in soggy girly stuff like PR or crunchy stuff like business and law–and then they marry late (~30), have kids a few years later and drop out of working at least until the kids are grown.
This answers a couple of needs, not least the need for two incomes to accumulate assets so that the couple can eventually buy into a UMC school district.
Oh, but these women aren’t really earning money because they need it to, you know, pay bills and shit:
[T]he real importance of this solution is to her psyche. Getting the education and career are a way of telegraphing “I am a complete person, not some drone like June Cleaver. I am just as smart and capable as any man. In my altruistic concern for my children, I choose not to use my talent in the marketplace but to devote myself to them.” In other words, she needs that education and early career to mark her as better than a mere housewife, even though she will eventually choose to become a housewife.
According to Dalrock, such women are far more evil than the feminist women who get jobs and stick with them. (Emphasis added.)
Men and women who work hard to support themselves understand that they are in it for the duration. There is a determined realism to them. … These aren’t the women we are talking about. The women Escoffier described see having a career as a badge of status to be collected on their way to their ultimate goal of stay at home housewife. They aren’t really career women, they are playing career woman much the way that Marie Antoinette played peasant and Zoolander’s character played coal miner.
In the comments, someone calling himself Carnivore explains just how unfair this all is to the poor innocent working men of the world:
When men get a degree or go through a vocational program and then land a job, they’ve normally got 40+ years to contribute to increasing the wealth of society. Women “playing” career damage society:
1. They displace men for positions in college or vocational school.
2. Upon landing a job, they displace other men for the job position.
3. The increase in the labor pool drives down wages (supply & demand).
4. While in the labor pool, women are less effective and less productive than men.
5. Because they are in the labor pool and cannot compete with men, women support labor laws to enforce “equality” which burden businesses and can cause men to get fired due to some infringement or just to meet quotas.
6. When they leave the labor pool after becoming bored, there is now a hole than can be difficult to fill because the men who would normally fill it have been displaced for all the reasons above.
Carnivore places part of the blame on the feminism-infected parents who taught these women the wrong things:
Women do NOT know what they want. They have to be guided. Most parents have so bought into feminism that they don’t see any other way. It’s a riot – or sad – talking to parents when they go into all the detail about choosing a college, going on campus visits, making sure she gets into the best school, etc., etc. You would think these parents would spend their time and energy on prepping their daughters for the most important life decision – choosing a man for marriage, how to make a husband happy and how to raise healthy children.
The commenter called Ray takes it one step further:
i was in the workplaces during feminism 1.0, and it had nothing to do with fairness, equity, egalitarianism, or any other positive attribute
in fact, it was a slaughter, resulting in the vast disenfranchisement and destruction of millions of american men — there were dozens of ways men could be hassled, RIFd, and forced from employment, and they were (all to chants of Equality and Empowerment)
this resulted in the massive unemployment of the very men needed to create, invent, and revitalize the culture. and to be fathers to sons . …
no female should be employed, or educated, if it means a qualified male must be excluded
Women, stop leeching off men by paying your own way!
NOTE: This post contains SARCASM.
Okay, but if you agree with the stuff written at AVfM, then you’re at least an MRM sympathizer. Would I be wrong to assume that a person that agrees with the stuff from The Free Republic and Conservapedia is a conservative?
@thebionicmommy: Ya, and I sometimes agree with Feministing and Feministe. That doesn’t automatically make me a feminist sympathizer.
No, the part where you said you thought feminism had valuable ideas and that you’d adopted some of them makes you a feminist sympathizer, albeit an abhorrent one.
Yeah, we’re not going to forget that you said that. Or were you lying then, too?
proper comportment when playing at August National?
this one was funny to me because my brother is a caddy at east lake, georgia’s other major golf course, and im pretty sure he would be aghast if he saw me anywhere near a pro course
I just think you are an MRA because you hate women.
( Liking Ashley the pillow pet does not count as liking women, dolls are not people.)
@Laura: I pretty much agree with first and second wave feminism. Third wave feminism is the one I have issues with.
But Bostonian, he couldn’t give a fuck about other men either. He strikes me as just a misogynist who’s in love with himself.
@Brandon
That article that they linked of to ATLAs’ list of male privileges and wrote it off all as bullshit is bullshit, because it’s possible to have male privilege but still get shafted in other ways too. Mainly by rigid and suffocating gender roles. The interesting thing about MRAs though is they like when these restricting gender roles suit them (mainly when they negatively affect women) but they hate them when they don’t suit them (mainly when they negatively affect men)
And how the fuck are cancer rates and women living longer the fault of feminism? feminists cause cancer now? real intelligence there. Men abusing more alcohol and drugs too? FEMINISTSRAWRFhjDSJHHJ!!!
Here is a male health center website talking about how men don’t go to the doctors enough…not because they are dumb, but because it’s not seen as masculine. But I’m sure that’s not a legitimate reason as to why men might have poor health. Because it doesn’t blame feminism! http://www.malehealthcenter.com/p_check.html
AVFM had $1000 free to donate to men’s health centers or for prostate cancer research. Or an AA or rehab center. Instead they used it as reward money to give to whoever finds all the personal information of some women who made a fictional video they didn’t like so they can post it all over the net.
Its interesting to how men are not going to college but men as a group still get paid more. Even in though studies have also shown that women and men who have the same degrees, women get paid less. All our fault for taking time off to care for our kids though I’m sure! Being punished for having children. Then vilified for shrugging off our “feminine duties” Many women are opting out of having children, because they know they’ll be punished for it by losing income and having a gap in their resume.
I can’t read these things and take them seriously. Because there answer for everything is to blame feminism. Why don’t you just admit that you’re an MRA anyway? you agree with pretty much everything they say anyway.
And tell us Brandon, what, in your narrow little mind, constitutes third wave feminism?
Please, enlighten us. I’m sure we’re all dying to know.
@Bostonian: How do I hate women? I would like to see some specifics.
Well Lauralot , that is true.
I pretty much agree with first and second wave feminism. Third wave feminism is the one I have issues with.
oh good, i was worried there was an mra cliche brandon hadnt spouted yet.
I admit that I could not offer advice on ball management to save my life (maybe don’t…don’t smack them into things with corners?) but even cis women know urinal etiquette: maximize the distances between all parties, don’t look at each other, no fucking cellphone conversations.
Brandon: When is being promiscuous bad? When someone is using sex like it is a drug.
What do you mean by use it like a drug?
Caffiene? I use it when I want it, because I like it.
Same as I do with Alcohol. That’s pretty much the way I have sex (and, as with alcohol/coffee, I don’t share it without getting permission).
You, as I recall use pot, which is illegal. Then again, you seem to be willing to engage in illegal acts relating to sex (see previous discussions re videotaping sex without your partners permission). So you seem to be using sex as you use at least one drug (in an illicit, and furtive manner). So you are a slut, and that means you exercise bad judgement in re sex (esp. as the being willing to break the law, and violate other peoples autonomy, just in case it might later benefit you).
Which means an intelligent women, with any self-respect, ought to refuse to have sex with you.
Your rules, not mine.
Brandon: @Laura: Denial is the first step towards acceptance.
So you admit you have a problem? That’s a good sign.
Brandon: @Pecunium: Apparently you are having a hard time with this.
Not at all. I expected you, actually; based on past behavior, to bob and weave and refuse to answer a simple question about what you believe.
So, as per norm, it’s a case of, “humpty-dumpty”, when you use a word it means what you want it to mean, and if we actually try to use it, you can say we don’t know what you mean, because you are making it up as you go along, and anytime the meaning of your context makes you look bad, you pretend you can handwave it away by saying, “you didn’t understand what I meant,” while refusing to make your meaning clear, even when politely requested to do so, which is funny as hell, given the other nonsense you are blithering about, with the need of other people to be polite to you, so that you won’t be a passive aggressive asshole to them.
Which bad behavior you expect us to reward you for.
Ain’t gonna happen. When you are being a shit, we are going to call you on it. I suggest you get used to it, since it appears it didn’t happen often enough in your past.
Oh, also: glory holes are first come, first served.
THIS. So much. But then you know they’ll just write it off as pussifying men for talking about their feelings. Especially any feelings that dont involve anger at women and feminism.
@bagelsan
did another guy see your dick at a urinal? congrats, youre gay now. turns out thats how it works. fill out these forms and you’ll get your loretta lynn albums in the mail.
@Pecunium: What part of “every person has their own interpretation of promiscuous” are you not understanding?
I thought it was the other way around.
“@Julie: Well, if anything did go wrong…it would be my mothers fault.”
Just from this thread.
Also the slut shaming you always engage in.
Also the hate for mothers in general, not just your own, for needing support.
I could link to many more examples, but you are not worth that much effort.
My guess is Brandon’s all right with first wave feminism because women owning property means Ashley doesn’t have to live with him and women voting means some of them will vote for politicians who will in some way benefit Brandon.
Second wave: Women not being housewives is great because Brandon doesn’t have support those bitches.
Third wave: What do mean Brandon can’t tell you how to run things?! Evil harpies!
@Sharculese: Aw, I knew I missed one! Truly the urinal is a man’s domain.
^What do you mean. Ugh.
