Though Thanksgiving is over, I’m still thinking about all the things I’m thankful for. I’m thankful that so many fine people have made this blog a kind of online home. I’m thankful for the steady stream of trolls that keep us all so busy. I’m thankful for friends, and kitties, and Netflix streaming, and the delicious Thanksgiving buffet I gorged on yesterday. I’m thankful I’m nowhere near a mall today. I could go on and on.
But instead I’ll just point out that I’m extra, especially, really really super-duper thankful I’m not this guy, as happily “single [and] free” as he claims to be. Or one of the 42 bitter assholes on The Spearhead who upvoted this comment of his:
I was going to limit my usage of women to that of a nice meat hole, but I concluded even that is too risky. Now I try to avoid western women altogether. Decades of child support can ruin a man’s life. STDs can ruin a man’s life. A False rape claim can ruin a man’s life. Also, women have disproportionate support from the courts and law enforcement thanks to traitorous manginas. Nearly every man I know who is living with a wife or gf is miserable. Nearly every man I know who does not have a wife or gf has a higher quality of life-or at least appears to be happier. From my observations, men’s quality of life usually decreases after long stints in relationships.
I will stay single, stay free, and live alone.
I am pretty sure that the “meat holes” of the world are even more happy about this last bit than you are.
*looks*
The thing is, though, both those resources are about being married, and being a better wife. What if I already *have* partners I’m happy with? >.>
Meller: Oh, right. You and every single man who agrees with you on everything ever (all four of them) are gonna rise up and put us ladies in our place! And then we’ll have to be all sweet and submissive, or else we’re gonna get lovingly beaten and tossed into brothels, yes? See me tremble.
Also, once again, how old IS Meller? “‘Fascinating Womanhood’ is a book by Helen Andelin written in 1963.”
Keep railing against feminism and every woman who doesn’t do exactly what you want Meller, it really doesn’t matter. How does it feel to be obsolete?
So, the fact that you aren’t responding means that my little one CAN read libertarian books? Or can’t? And my daughter’s talents should be… suppressed? I should be arranging a marriage for her? What to do, DKM, what to do?
ithiliana: Zhnxy: DKM is wrong about the position of women in physics (like everything else)!
Though, of course as is true with all disciplines, white women have benefitted more, but there has been PROGRESS and probably will be more later on if your daughter still wants to pursue that field!
Ah huzzah! (She’s been switching which science she REALLY, truly wants the MOST roughly yearly since she was about five or so and realized she couldn’t just be A SCIENTIST and had to specialize at least a little, (NO, NO, CHEMISTRY! WAIT, MAYBE ASTRONOMY! OOOH, BOTANY!) so I’m not sure it’ll end up physics, but will be surprised if she ends up an art major. 😉 )
So all the books on science she reads, she doesn’t understand, or really like, or shouldn’t have read in the first place? Help me out, Meller, I’m about to buy her Lessons For The Young Economist and Time Will Run Back, for heaven’s sakes! How much instruction can her young mind bear?
Sooo…lobotomizing women would be fine if it made them act the way you want?
“And hey, this avowed feminist just put a homemade pizza in the oven. Has you head exploded yet?”
I’m an avowed feminist sometimes to the degree of being an asshole about it, gender-variant, and queer. I am more or less visibly this, what with the short haircut and the men’s jeans and the Hawaiian shirt and the Birkenstocks.
I am presently watching football and knitting socks.
Thank you for your citations and notes, Ithiliana–
You have helped show why the sciences, especially physics (and perhaps, chemistry–both organic and inorganic, and pure mathematics) has been slowly but steadily deteriorating since the last third of the XX Century, and is continuing apace today, with ever larger proportion of resources, both commercial and academic, being devoted to women infesting the physical sciences!
Just compare Physics, to say nothing of related fields in the USA between 1910-1960 with American contributions–even men’s–between 1961 and 2010!
To have a ever-larger portion of an ever-shrinking pie is a sure symptom of impending disaster.
A word to the wise…
Hey Meller, what do you think of Christian Domestic Discipline?
Also, once again, how old IS Meller? “‘Fascinating Womanhood’ is a book by Helen Andelin written in 1963.”
He has to be at least an older Boomer. He’s obsessed with the culture wars of the sixties and seventies, and his libertarianism, while it’s still “mainstreamish,” is very nineteen eighties. And his fringe libertarianism is that of the conspiracist and white pride set, who are also often obsessed with those same culture wars. I think Meller left for the fringes at about the late eighties or early nineties.
Fascinating Woman is… fascinating… but probably not in the way that Meller intended:
“Women of all races, religions and cultures came into my classes, all with the same desperate need for instruction on how to understand their husband’s nature, needs and feelings, how to be the Ideal Woman From a Man’s Point of View and in so doing win their husband’s heart felt love and devotion.”
I do actually feel bad for these women if they’re having these kinds of problems with their partners, and I remember struggling to understand what other people wanted too. But I don’t feel like I need to shell out $35.00 for an online class because I’ve learned how to communicate honestly with my partners through free, godless, poly-friendly online resources. 😛
Just compare Physics, to say nothing of related fields in the USA between 1910-1960 with American contributions–even men’s–between 1961 and 2010!
You’re championing big government new left military industrial OUR FRIEND THE ATOM science? You sure you wanna do that?
…you sure?
how old IS Molly Ren? After all, the signature books of feminuttery, the Second Sex by Simone de Bouvoir (I think that is how you spell it) and Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan were written in 1959 and 1963 respectively. I suppose I could go back to “Vindication of the Rights of Women, written by Mary Wollstonecraft in, I believe, 1790, but that would be going to far, wouldn’t it?
So, what am I supposed to do, wise and great fellow libertarian meller, about the education of my female youngling? You’re really dodging here! I was deep into Mainspring of Human Progress and Anthem and Economics in One Lesson at her age… (And the communist manifesto, I was shopping around, okay!)
Aaaand Meller has once again been reduced to schoolyard retorts.
Yeah, DKM, with his dolls and fluffies, has surpassed NWO as the most entertainingly out of touch and all-around weird troll on Manboobz. Kudos, Mr. Mellar, kudos!
So, you can’t even answer whether girls should get to read the important works of a political philosophy that you claim you and I share? Really?
Hmm. This sock knitting has caused me to wonder:
We’ve already established that the ideal woman does not have a vagina, because the presence of same suggests “something sick”. Does the ideal woman have feet?
Meller, I actually haven’t read any of those books. I got all of my gender instruction from the Internet over the last four years.
This is also interesting, from the “Fascinating Womanhood” website:
“Let me tell you about this Masterpiece Mom, my daughter, Ginny. She has 15 children. She teaches them home school each weekday morning. They all attend church weekly, She reads them stories and books. The family keeps the house clean and helps with the shopping. The mother is an excellent cook. Every Monday evening the family meets together for a “Family Home Evening.” Here the father teaches them spiritual values and the mother and children participate. She helps the poor and the needy and blesses people with her presence. When Ginny comes into a room people feel spiritually fed, nourished. All of the older children have attended college. In addition, she keeps her weight trim and dresses with taste and propriety.”
Like, some of this stuff is SO BASIC. Even atheists try to keep their houses clean and do homeschooling. The poly family I am currently a part of loves children and wants to adopt, and we all try to make time to spend with each other.
Also, what’s wrong with doing ANY of this stuff while fat? Or wearing jeans and a t-shirt?
Just say no to homeschooling while fat.
I guess the point I’m trying to make is that Meller’s like “YOU HATE KIDS AND CLEANING AND HOMESCHOOLING AND FAMILY, DON’T YOU?” and I’m like, “No, really, we want a lot of the same things, I just want to do it while fat and working outside the home.”
in the old days of fluffyness, no woman ever had children and raised them while plump, katz. We can do it today!
I dunno, Molly. Ever since I started questioning the omnipotence and omnibenevolence of God, I’ve had this strange compulsion to throw my dirty underwear right on the floor and just leave it there for weeks. Darndest thing.
And when my boyfriend and I make decisions cooperatively, I completely forget how to shop or cook. Due to my insolence I have been cursed to order take-out Chinese every meal.
But that would make you HUMAN!
(And seriously, the number of cranks who act like there are NO non-right-wing or non-christian or non-not-them homeschoolers! Everybody else just must LOVE the evil non-right-wing non-christian or non-not-them schools! )
More proof of WOMANPOWER: Only a little over 10% in a field, and we RUIN it.
For proof: look at English which has been giving 60% of its Ph.D.s to women for some decades now.
DKM’s theory: the roon of the culture!
My theory: nobody gives a flying fuck about cultural power of the text any more!
Which planet are YOU on?
