A couple of intriguing quotes from Reddit’s Men’s Rights subreddit.
The topic at hand: A Redditor claims an ex falsely accused him of rape and caused him various other problems and basically acted like a shit. No one, of course, can possibly know if the guy is telling the truth, but the r/mr regulars all assume the alleged false accuser is guilty until proven innocent. (And maybe not even then.)
Naturally, some of the regulars use this as an opportunity to discuss how completely understandable it is when guys kill their exes.
Really, in this misandrist world, dudes murdering their exes is totally like slaves murdering their masters. Illegal, sure, but who can blame them? At least that’s how texaswildfires sees it:
Yep, in his mind, dudes today are totally in the exact same situation as slaves in the antebellum south — so when a guy murders his ex, the person you should feel empathy with is the murderer.
Naturally, both of these comments got upvotes, because that’s just how r/mr rolls these days.
@lauralot: nah, I’d rather see him beg some more.
Fucking gods, Brandon. You’re starting to rival NWO for sheer willful density. Soon, you’ll start pulling other commenters into your vortex of ego and stupidity.
Oh, fuck it, he just came out squarely for moral relativism. I wish I were surprised.
No, Brandon, most societies have agreed upon morality. Except you. Because you’re special.
As a matter of fact, I agree with you Brandon! It just so happens that I also think that I should fight for the inclusiveness of a battered spouse defense instead of simply declaring “You and your family lived in constant fear for your lives and so you did what you thought you had to do because otherwise there was no escape? Well tough shit”
I want equal justice for all victims of abuse. I do not think that screwing all victims equally is acceptable.
@Thebionicmommy: I have noticed that too. While I wouldn’t call the mcdonalds employee a hero, I think he was justified using force UNTIL the two women fell down. At that stage, the two women were no longer a threat and he should have backed away.
@HellKell: Because I love you and I miss you terribly and posting on this website is the only way I can talk to you. ;P
Thanks for the serious answer, jerkoff.
It’s just that getting your ass handed to you on a daily basis must get old, and you certainly don’t want to take honest positions and defend them without weaseling. So I just wonder what’s in this for you. I wonder this about all our regular trolls, and so far no one has answered.
@hellkell: Isn’t it obvious? Masochism!
@Hellkell: Really? Cause I thought you know China might live by a similar but different set of moral principles then the US
And to the discussion yesterday about culture. If culture defines practically everything about us and different countries have opposing values and morals…doesn’t that mean that most countries DON’T share the same morality. Each culture would define what it thought was it’s own moral code.
” I wonder this about all our regular trolls, and so far no one has answered.”
Isn’t it obvious? They’re trying their darnedest to be right about their woman hating ways. They want one of us to go “Good point. Maybe women should be sex slaves since they really have no other purpose.”
My guess is they have a secret fetish for letting feminists totally dominate them in debate.
LMAO Lauralot. You have earned one internet.
@Joanna: I don’t want women to be sex slaves…kinda takes all the fun out of sex.
“No, Brandon, most societies have agreed upon morality.”
“And to the discussion yesterday about culture. If culture defines practically everything about us and different countries have opposing values and morals…doesn’t that mean that most countries DON’T share the same morality. Each culture would define what it thought was it’s own moral code.”
And societies are all different, Brandon, you are catching on. Because each society has….dundundun…culture. Culture and norms that are different from other societies and cultures.
WOW, you are starting to catch on.
Yeah, Brandon doesn’t want a sex slave. He just wants to film ladies in bed without their consent for his amateur porn collection. Uh, I mean, to prove consent.
@Lauralot: Only if you get Jill from Feministe to whip me because I am such a fan of being submissive.
@Brandon: morality is hard to codify, but its certainly clear that every country has its own LEGAL code, and those laws can differ greatly.
As many Americans who are too pig ignorant to do research about where they’re going find out when they get arrested.
@Julie: Thanks for agreeing and proving hellkell wrong.
I really don’t want to get sucked into this morality debate. I think things would be more interesting if brandyn replied to my little post up there. I mean, I think my stance is reasonable! Whaddya say brandon? I didn’t even throw in any personal attacks.
Just for you, Brandon:
As a side note: There are a bewildering number of Addams Family fanvids that use this song.
What do you want to bet one of the trolls decides that Lehrer was an MRA and that song was a satire of feminism?
I didn’t though. Societies are plural. Each society may have it’s own moral codes that differ from others. Most usually have an anti-theivery/ anti killing etc kind of code, but there is room for cultural difference. Because it has developed differently than other societies. Unless I was reading Hell Kell wrong. Which is likely, if you think I’m in agreement with you Brandon. Still a little dried out from the wine last night so maybe my groggy head isn’t on top of things.
Anyway, you aren’t responding to other points that are more in tune with the post. Which is not surprising.
Was I proved wrong? I’m not so sure, B. I said most societies have agreed upon moralities… I did not say all societies were the same.
Right, that’s what I thought you said, hellkell. That societies could differ based on, you know, culture.
Brandon, thanks for the takedown. Swing and a miss, kiddo.
