The Spearhead on Occupy Wall Street: It’s just a bunch of man-hating single moms

Ladies are icky.

You might assume that those Occupy Wall Street protests (and their various offshoots) you’ve seen so much little of on the news lately are all about, you know, Wall Street, and the economy, and the fact that the very people who got our economy into the mess it’s in are somehow all still richer (a lot richer) than you or me. But apparently that’s not it at all. Nope! Apparently it’s all about hating on the menz.

How so? Let us turn to the good fellows at The Spearhead for guidance. In a recent post titled Occupy Wall Street Is Just Another Vehicle For Misandry, the blogger known only as Pro Male/Anti-Feminist Tech (PMAFT for short) argues that the movement is overrun by dastardly “single mothers and other women demonstrating high levels of entitlement.” His proof: one lady he found posting her story on the We Are the 99 Percent blog who noted that she had “no job, 3 kids and cannot see a med … let the dudes pay my bills.”

You might assume that by “the dudes” the lady in question is referring to extremely rich dudes – you know, the 1 percent that the “we are the 99 percent” movement is focusing its attention on. But apparently PMAFT knows better than we do, declaring that

she is demanding men subsidize her, not rich men or billionaires (which would be questionable enough) but men in general.

Oh, but she’s not the only entitled princess on display on the 99 Percent blog. Here are two other women — chosen from hundreds of examples from the blog — that to PMAFT seem to epitomize the evils of female entitlement and man-hatred:

Imagine, women actually having the chutzpah to want medical insurance for young children! Blatant misandry at its worst!

The commenters whooped it up in typical Spearhead fashion. “Single mums want to fuck with John and expect Harry to support her and her kids,” complained Nico. “New-age gov-mediated cuckoldry.”

To the redoubtable Uncle Elmer, these women’s pleas were

symptomatic of the feminized educational system and media. Without a manly Patriarchy to call BS on a lot of these entitlement notions, we have several generations of women now sailing into the hard rock of reality. … nobody cares.

Finndistan, meanwhile, wrote a screed nearly as long as the OP, laying out his case against shoe-wearing single mothers. A condensed version:

So, single mom? Should’ve kept your legs closed… should’ve chosen a better man….

I am not in America, but my single friends who get laid by one of your friends once every blue moon are already paying for you and your friends shoes and bastards by the insane amount of taxes imposed on them with threat of imprisonment.

If these guys are the 1%; that makes you, the 99%, parasites….

You, found a dipsh%t welfare boy, made a baby, and we, the 1% as defined by you, who actually want to work and create something useful, not bastards, are getting screwed by the real 1% who steal from us to give to you, so you can buy shoes and create bastards.

As a man … more than one third of my earning … go[es] to feed your shoes and your bastards …

Single mom with shoes and bastards, bought and being payed for by my money.

Occupy Wallstreet just shows that the western man is the pinata of the western world. And then he dies.

This comment got 63 upvotes from the locals, but no shoes or bastards.

AfOR, not quite as longwinded, noted that he found the women’s pictures “hilarious,” adding:

Suck it down bitches.

If you blow me PROPERLY I’ll buy you a 99 cent burger.

This got 58 upvotes from the totally non-hateful readers of The Totally Non-Hateful Spearhead.

EDITED TO ADD:

Speaking of hateful, here’s a comment I somehow missed, from evilwhitemaleempire. Readers of the comments here will recognize him as a dickish dude who posts dickish comments here from time to time. But in this comment he really lets his misogynist flag fly. (TRIGGER WARNING FOR VIOLENT MISOGYNY) Referring to one of the women cited as “entitled” by PMAFT, who had noted that she has “no money to hire a lawyer so I can divorce my abusive husband,” evilshitemaleempire offered this advice:

Heh. If she’s telling the absolute truth about her life on that paper (questionable) then she needs to go back to that abusive husband and start doing some serious dick sucking.
And if he wants anal sex she’d better give it to ‘em.

At last count this comment had 16 upvotes and one downvote. Stay classy, Spearhead.

I would just as soon confine my criticism to feminism and feminists here!

“I only get my rocks off on verbal abuse and attention from females!” We know, DKM. We know.

I would just as soon confine my criticism to feminism and feminists here! I think that the Holocaust, the veracity of source materials, and the extent of genocide during the dreadful XX century is material best left to other websites and blogs, including some of my favorites cited above. I would agree that manboobz. com is hardly the place to discuss it intelligently or fairly.

brb, gettin a doctorate in this subject

Molly Ren–I never thought of myself as a “hippie”, any more than I think of myself as a ‘Nazi sympathizer or a “racist”. What I am is INDEPENDENT! I assume that I am only being given a small part of the truth from whomever I am listening to, that my sources are either ignorant, or liars, and go on from there! I don’t believe in human ‘equality”, I don’t believe in pharmatoxic medicine, in government foreign and militrary policy–or government anything else for that matter–or in 95% of the so-called ‘history” that we have been brainwashed with by entertainment noisemedia! I believe in what I see, and understand to be true, and only so long as I register the truth!

By the way, I agree with you that we have been talking entirely too much about the holocaust–and perhaps even about rape–on manboobz.com. I certainly would prefer to do so on websites where I could do so impartially, honestly, and intelligently!

Seriously. I didn’t think fascists went in for that shit.

Actually, the alternative health movement/s in Germany were booming during the turn of the century/between the wars and overlapped with the Nazis to a significant extent, esp. during the early years. Himmler had an herb garden at Dachau (it was “staffed” by prisoners who were catholic priests, I have no idea why) and Darre was into biodynamic farming, etc.

@DKM:

Could you please describe how single mothers generate more profit for the medical, insurance and dental industries than married couples or single fathers?

Well, I learned something today. Thanks, VoiP.

There are shittons of books on this, the titles of which I can’t remember right now because I’m drunk. My recommendation would be picking up a biography of the Nazi leader of your choice and following the footnotes (altho. not all of them were into this shit tbh.)

bwahahaha, David Meller going on about auras makes my day. I have a perfect solution for all of Meller’s complaints: homeopathically dilute Bunny Essence by about 1000C, then drop the resulting remedy into the ocean. Within a few years, there will be no more hard-edged feminist women. We will all be soft, fluffy bunnies.

Shorter DKM:

“Everyone is lying, history is false, and only I know the truth. How I know the truth isn’t quite clear.”

Here’s a brain teaser for ya DKM. You can only obtain information about the world through your senses. Your senses will only observe an infinitesimally small slice of time on an infinitesimally small patch of ground in your entire lifetime. To assume you know anything about the world without external verification is asinine. You need other people to collaborate with, to bounce ideas off of, and ultimately to do work in verification that you could never do on your own.

Once you understand this (and boy am I pessimistic), you will have started one step closer towards being a proper skeptic.

@Moewicus:

Actually, like cures like. So you’d need to dilute knives and obsidian to cure hard-edgedness.

Wait… Meller believes in homeopathy and auras?

Pardon me while I break down in tears laughing…

Suddenly what I just wrote is a lot more relevant.

Someone already broached the Nazi alternative health fads, but basically most of alternative medicine is explicit anti-modern ideology based on “mind over matter” bullshit. Or, as the Nazis called it, “Triumph of the Will”.

Hippy woo is not only bad science, it’s bad leftism. Ideologies that smuggle anti-rationalist beliefs into your belief system are like computer Trojans: not only do those memes infect you, they tend to open you wide to all the other ones. That’s why we see so many conspiracy nuts in the MRA, health care nuts in the far right, and so forth.

Medicines, even when administered most carefully, react with the body,

Stop the presses! Medicines react with the body? I thought they were supposed to remain completely inert and do nothing to the body!! My pharmacology classes were a lie!

and react with each other in unpredictable, and often undesirable ways, sometimes producing side effects whose symptoms rival in virulence the diseases being treated!

And apparently medication can make viruses now. Who knew?

Are your distressing symptoms resulting from an inability to handle toxins in your environment (including food, water, or furniture) and what kind of help does your body need in either adapting to them or defending against them?

How thoroughly has your body been cleansed of various toxins? Are you protected from ambient microwave and other electromagnetic radiation, and if so, how effective is your protection? I am no expert, but these questions are certainly among the first you–and your father–ought to ask.

This has been DKM warning you to avoid toxic furniture (or develop antibodies to it?) and always wear sunscreen. Or encase yourself in lead. Whatev.

So, David K. Meller believes in auras, but he can’t believe that women are equal to men?

I guess that makes sense. It’s just so fucking odd.

Once again, alternative medicine and for starters, http://www.naturalcures.com.

Most of the information on the site you have to pay for, and I’m not going to fork over money just to satisfy my curiosity. But lets start out with that the site is by Kevin Trudeau. Here’s a review of his book More Natural Cures Revealed. From this I learn that, among his other claims:

Animals in the wild never get sick.
Bacteria and viruses don’t cause disease, which is why you don’t “catch” cancer or diabetes; disease is caused by an imbalance of vital energy.
The sun doesn’t cause cancer.

That doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in what can be found on his site.

Looking at the for-free information on his site, I find some pH nonsense. Your blood pH very tightly regulated to between 7.35 and 7.45 (unless you have a major medical problem) by a combination of your lungs, kidneys and several buffering systems. Anything you eat to attempt to make your blood more alkaline than 7.45 is going to simply be flushed out by your kidneys, making your urine more alkaline. Then these quacks test your urine pH, find it to alkaline, and say that your diet is a success, even though it hasn’t changed your body’s pH.

Let’s look at the FAQ.

Electromagnetic chaos eliminators“? Yeah, the only way of eliminating electromagnetic “chaos” (whatever that is) would be to sit in a Faraday cage; carrying some trinket around in your pocket isn’t going to do anything.
It is important to know that the liver is the major fat burning organ in the body. The liver is the only organ that can pump fat out of the body …” I don’t know where he got that from. The liver produces fat, and the only thing it pumps out of the body is bile. Again, this isn’t inspiring much confidence.
How do I change my body pH from acid to alkaline? ” If your blood were acidic (pH below 7.0) you’d be at death’s door. Normal blood pH, between 7.35 and 7.45, is already very slightly basic (alkaline).

Huh, the “recommended websites” page requires a subscription.

@David:

Could you please configure the blog to allow for comment previews? The comment I just posted looks horrible because it stripped out a bunch of HTML, and I didn’t get a chance to correct it.

“Virulence” doesn’t mean “having to do with viruses”, so that’s not what he meant.

Thanks Dr. Obvious. I was being tongue in cheek, but I also have most frequently heard “virulence” used medically in regard to pathogen infectivity, so having that word used for a medication was at best odd-sounding and at worst implied that medications can infect other hosts; unless DKM is trying to make a point about the potential dangers of viral vectors used in gene therapy I think he’s probably talking out of his ass.

“virulent poison” is a stock phrase meaning “especially quick-acting and deadly poison” so I suppose “virulent medicine” is a valid, if negative, way to describe powerful drugs…
