The last time we checked in on Justin, who blogs at The Truth Shall Set You Free, he was making some extremely creepy arguments about age of consent laws, which he feels are too harsh towards statutory rapists and not harsh enough on their victims. (Seriously.)
In his latest post, Justin recommends that readers check out a discussion on another website that he thinks his Men’s Rights buddies are handily winning. That in itself isn’t particularly notable. It’s the way he does it that caught my attention:
The comment section following the article is a laugh riot. If you like to watch intellectual child abuse, that is, as the men’s rights guys slap around the idiot feminists.
Yep, he’s comparing feminists to victims of child abuse, and Men’s Rightsers to the abusers. And declaring this “abuse” to be a regular “laugh riot.”
That’s a pretty, well, revealing way to put it, Justin. A bit more revealing than perhaps you meant it to be.
MRAs often resort to violent imagery when talking about debates they have with feminists, but I think this is the first time I’ve seen one compare his allies to child abusers, and mean that as e a compliment.

NWO, if you feel that way about computer engineering, what is your opinion of movie making/film students? I’m curious.

Public schools hold no value and simply reward behavior and homework over achievement. Public schools in the US have slipped from being #1 in math, science and reading to below 3rd world standard. Since the only thing to change is the ciriculum, the new math, (now both styles are taught and the child chooses which they like the best). Reading, which for centuries was basically taught to make it easy to learn was scrapped in favor of feminist mantra.
If you actually research the scores you’d see both boys and girls scores have plunged. Girls didn’t “catch up” so to speak. The new teaching style, along with rewarding behavior and conformity have simply lowered everyones score to a measure of equality. The feminist answer was simplicity itself. If boys consistently do better at math, do it ass backwards, grade on behavior and conformity, make everything about it illogical and anethema to boys, and you’ll get the desired results. How else can you explain boys scores plunging, and girls scores dropping marginally after these changes took place?
Only a society that hates boys would intentionally make learning a hostile enviornment for boys. Merit and achievement have been trumped by by conformity and indoctrination.

Also, even if the stuff about computer science departments was true, Occam’s Razor tells us we should consider non-insane explanations first, before concluding that this is all part of a plot by them evil women to deprive manly men of internet porn. Possibilities such as:
1. Comparing apples to oranges. The funding for the computer science department was huge and got cut only a little, whereas the funding for the women’s studies program was and remains miniscule.
2. The computer science department got a ginormous private research grant, which allowed the university to conserve its own funds without any loss to the department.
3. The cuts make sense because of declining enrollment in computer science, whereas there is no such decline in women’s studies. Maybe it’s because too many people spend too much time in high school playing football instead of studying calculus.
4. The cuts were designed to eliminate the study of obsolete technologies.

I guess I’ve seen statutes that criminalize FMG. Otherwise, I’m having a hard time understanding what laws there are that benefit women and not men. Custody laws vary by state, but in my state a judge cannot grant custody based on gender by default.

Yeah, that is a genuine problem (even if it’s not strictly factual or clear). I want the men I love to live a long time. Again, not something that’s women’s fault, and not something that feminism doesn’t remedy, to a certain extent.

Even hardcore anticommunists throughout my life have conceded the USSR beat the pants off us for education *Quality* and by the collapse of the USSR we had a number of other countries that were doing better than the US, straight up.

Because I have way too much time on my hands, I visited the websites for both the University of Cincinnati and the University of California, and, yes, they still have computer-science departments.
As far as I can tell, NWO got this notion from a Spearhead rant about the University of Cincinnati folding its computer science department into one of its science campuses (I don’t know much about U. of C., but apparently it’s a got a bunch of separate campuses for various disciplines). In the looking-glass land of the Spearhead, this was clearly a cover-up for a conspiracy to entirely eliminate the university’s CS program out of pure hatred of men. Because women hate computers.
In other news, NWO’s idea of New Math as a current educational issue lends credence to him being in his fifties or older. As a thirtysomething, I know it from the Tom Lehrer song and from spending one period on base-n computation in middle school.
Yup, it’s true, I never use computers. Also kids aren’t taught how to read anymore, because “it was scrapped in favor of feminist mantra” instead (according to OWLslave) so I’m actually entirely illiterate. All these comments from me are just in your imagination… 😀

Yet again, the MRAs prove themselves to be completely disingenuous when trying to argue that feminists are taking over the world. So here’s the actual story regarding the University of Cincinnati. Previously, it had two separate colleges in this field: the College of Engineering and the College of Applied Science. The university is facing a serious budget shortfall, as are most undergraduate colleges these days. So they decided to merge two schools into one, the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The department still has dozens of programs spread across six schools. Now let’s stop to think a second. Do you think perhaps they chose to make cuts in the sciences because the program is a lot bigger and costs a lot more money? Oh no, that can’t be it. It must be a castration of some kind.
Also, the computer engineering major is intact, and several of the current computer science classes will be permanently shifted over to that program. You have an enormous science department spread across two schools that is going to be merged into one school due to budget constraints, and the Spearhead freaks just make up reasons why feminists are to blame for it.
About the computer science thing — I went to the U Cin website, and I see that they still have a bachelor’s in Information Technology. Judging from my experience getting a CS degree recently, there is a movement within colleges to put more emphasis on IT and less on CS, so it wouldn’t surprise me if U Cin did the same thing. There is a perception that IT grads are what the industry is looking for, versus CS grads. Both majors have lots of men involves, by the way.

Just as you say it’s in the best interest of men to have women entitled over men in all realms of society. Curious how hard science classes are susceptible to cuts and mergers while the all too important womens studies is “hands-off” exempt. Tell me, do women have the right to life, freedom, property and vote? If they do, there is nothing left to discuss. Unless privilege is the name of the game?
The thing about primary schools favoring girls over boys confuses me. The usual “evidence” for this proposition is that nearly all elementary schoolteachers are women and the teaching methods require students to sit still and pay attention, which boys (but not girls) are supposedly biologically unable to do.
But neither of those is at all a new thing! Primary schoolteachers have always been mostly women (especially when it was one of the few paid jobs women were allowed to hold), and if anything, modern teaching methods allow for more rowdiness and physical activity than those of, say, 100 years ago. Obviously it’s a serious problem if boys are losing interest or ability in academics, but you certainly can’t blame feminism for that.
