Barbershop handjobs and women as chattel: Some Spearhead Gems

Actual barbershop in Poland

You’ve got to give the Spearhead men credit for one thing: vivid imagination. Browsing through the comments on a recent W.F. Price post on marriage in Asia, I ran across a whole host of little gems, all of them eagerly upvoted by the assembled mob.

Gem #1: Uncle Elmer, a forward-thinking sort, fantasized about the impending arrival of

Asian style whoring here in the U.S., which is inevitable anyway as the world “flattens out” and we become more third-world as China becomes more first-world.

In the not too distant future when a fella goes to the “barber shop” he will be greeted by Heather, Madison, and Chloe, who will be eager to attend his needs in support of paying off their student loans.

Did he think that Idiocracy was a documentary?

A fellow named Will chimed in to ditto Elmer’s contribution, and to offer a most unusual conspiracy theory:

You’re right Elmer, every female student is a potential prostitute in the making, once the economy takes a nosedive and they can’t pay their loans.

Makes you wonder if the primarily Female university attendees aren’t intentionally being sold a “bill of goods” regarding the value of their university “education”.

So young women are being convinced to go to college, even though college education for women is useless (because, you know, they’re women), so that in a bad economy they’ll all start giving handjobs in barber shops to pay off their student loans?

Who exactly is doing this convincing? The American Association of University Women? The Illuminati? Uncle Elmer?

Gem #2: The always charming Oddsock, meanwhile, offered a skeptical take on the value of women’s conversational skills:

Lets be blunt here for a mo. How many men do you think would even bother talking to todays women if she did not have tits and a pussy ? How many women do you know that you could spend many hours or days with engaged in interesting conversation or leisure persuits?

Spearheaders, sparkling converstationalists all.  A regular Algonquin Round Table, with the part of Dorothy Parker played by some random internet misogynist who can’t spell the word “pursuits.”

Gem #3: Peter-Andrew: Nolan(c), offers up some reflections on his life as an Australian expat alpha dog in Germany. And some thoughts about, um, agriculture?

Because I am alpha with a great track record of being a “father and husband” and I have the ability to earn money I have women lining up to have a chance of marrying me. It is good to be at the top of the tree for a change. Shame the tree is about to fall but I am ok with that too. Those below me will cushion my fall.

As my new business venture fleshes out over the next few years I see the following happening. Men will band together to corner the income generation for many areas and they will insist on the “women as chattel property” marriage contract if any marriage at all…..men will exert their dominance in all things that are useful and productive in a competitive environment where they operate outside “guvment control” and the assets they corner will provide women galore.

I am with Angry Harry on this one “men farm cattle and sheep, why not women?” Women have always been “attracted” to the one they think will pay for them. Since we were living in caves. Women are no different today than they were 10,000 years ago. It’s just that we had a highly dystorionate PR system telling us “sugar and spice and everything nice” for a few generations.

And no, “dystorionate” is not a real word, at least in any language I or anyone else on planet Earth is familiar with. Google it, and see.

Northern VA person here. I didn’t even feel the earthquake, but the TV relocated itself from the entertainment center to the center of the living room floor while I was out. Other than that, everything’s fine here.

i don’t think PA:N (c) is lying, he sounds more like he just has no grip on reality. the dude claimed he was gonna put the judge from his divorce case on common law trial in his high school auditorium and sell tickets.

Internet psychology makes me uncomfortable, but when i read him (and owlslave for that matter) im always reminded of my sister who suffers from borderline personality disorder. the first time she says it, shes lying. by the second time she says it shes convinced herself its true.

And over the years he has declared himself to be the number one/top three/top five data warehousing computer programmers in the world.

I don’t know about the rest of you ladies, but my pants just fell down to my ankles. RAWR.

I’m holding out for at least in the top seven or top nine. (Bigger numbers are better, right?)

Okay, so according to these guys when the economy takes a nose dive I’ll become a prostitute in a barbershop who men don’t talk to, unless I’m “lucky” enough to become chattel in a marriage that is. And they say chivalry (the patriarchy?) is dead.

Also, everything’s fine in Baltimore after the earthquake, though they did evacuate some building to check for structural damage. If first felt like a subway was running under the building, then it felt like one was running through the building, mostly just a lot of shaking.

“… very old complaint about this blog: that it’s unfair to quote commenters at the Spearhead …”

I would use the word counter-productive. Women are better off if fathers who have been wounded by family courts are supported and guided as they work through their pain and loss. I think if you look, you will find plenty of grist for humour in the words of featured articles and the leaders of the MRM. There is no need to look for material in the general comments section.

I will tell you the truth, and you can believe me or not, as you please.

Yesterday, I used only posts by Amanda Marcotte to respond to the MRAhorns article because I felt it was the right thing to do. It was tempting to exploit numerous statements by general (non-leader) contributors, but I felt it was the wrong thing to do.

This is why it would have been wrong for me to use general (non-leader) posts to illustrate a point: As much as I dislike the political agenda of “feministe”, I recognize and value the role that they play in healing wounds of horribly brutalized people.

“The Spearhead” and “A Voice For Men” play a similar role, although the nature of the wounds is different.

To AZ :
“Many of the posters on MRA web sites (such as the spearhead) are survivors of collective violence, often perpetuated by bigoted civil or criminal courts that are infected with the feminist ideology of man-hate.”

It’s the opposite, most posters on MRA web sites are bitter Nice Guys(tm) that can get any. A guy that had bad experiences with women is not going to say that women love bad-boys and bitch against alpha-males (any other than him that get laid).

I suppose that for you the guy that said that women have no conversational skills was the victim of a girlfriend that had bad breath ? She molested him by blowing in his face ?

AntZ, I could show you plenty of quotes by W.F. Price and Paul Elam, the guys behind the sites The Spearhead and A Voice for Men, to show you that misogyny is shown by the leaders of the MRM, too. It isn’t wrong to point at the commenters of the sites to show the misogyny, either. If misogyny isn’t the norm at The Spearhead and A Voice for Men, then why are nasty comments so common, and upvoted by the other readers? No amount of rationalizing and apologizing is going to put the comments from this article into any context that isn’t about hating women. I also don’t think any of the commenters’ life experiences give them a free pass to be hateful bigots.

no, you quoted amanda marcotte because shes the alpha and omega of your understanding of feminism

also you seem to think pointing out that amanda marcotte can be acerbic is some sort of shocking revelation

also you put not the slightest effort into matching quotes up with images, showing that you didnt really get the joke to begin with

also that third thing sounds pretty sensible.

also youre kind of tool and your victim complex is getting tedious.

To Kendra:
“I wonder why these guys care about prostitution. They keep saying porn and VR is where it’s at, so why would they pay real women for sex? Actually, if they want prostitutes so bad, why don’t they travel to Nevada and visit a legal brothel?”

They can only get sex from prostitutes and most prostitutes don’t want them.

!Caution! Failure to properly warehouse your data may result in spontaneous pants dropping, quickness of breath, sweating, and increased heart rate.

No MRA leader would stoop to this level. Do you think that Elam or Price would use the comments of female survivors of violence in a desperate attempt to “prove” misandry by the feminist movement? The MRM looks for evidence of anti-male bigotry and sexism in the laws and practices of government.

You know, I actually think he believes this. Remarkable.

Vague memory that PAN’s business is selling some kind of snake oil – he keeps getting shut down for lying in marketing, and then starting up again with another name. Could be someone else I’m thinking of, though.

My convict ancestor had 7 girls and 1 boy with the convict she was assigned to. On the 1828 census she and the girls are all listed as “dressmakers”. Going by other records, it was in the Ankh-Morpork sense. 😉

Nothing in my apartment in Brooklyn even moved. I’m so jealous; my girlfriend felt it at work and I was home and didn’t.

Is someone really equating “I didn’t get the custody arrangement I wanted” with rape?

They can only get sex from prostitutes and most prostitutes don’t want them.

Plus, those legal brothels have all sorts of rules which probably give the women working there more power than these sorts of guys think a woman (especially one whose job is to have sex for a living) is entitled to.

Sometimes (getting off topic) I think that’s why prostitution remains illegal. If it’s legal, it can be regulated and the women who do it have more power when it comes to the transaction. They don’t have to agree not to use a condom in order to keep a “sale” or negotiate a price down if a guy thinks it’s too much, or … you know … always be worrying about getting busted by the cops. Even though the johns are also engaging in a criminal act, they do have a certain amount of power as the buyers to take advantage of the woman’s situation, and then if there’s a pimp involved, he’s taking advantage of the situation as well. I don’t know about all the legal brothels, but at least the one I had to study about did not have a “pimp” system, and there were sex acts that could not be performed (and lots and lots of security).

So yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were against legal prostitution. If a guy has a bad attitude, gets physical, or has some kind of disease she can reject him, just like all those alpha f*** women could before. (Trying to avoid getting caught in moderation this time.)

@magpie: Brothels often had legitimate business up front – I know of one in Italy waaaaay back (medieval type way back) when that used weaving as a cover. IIRC, the madame sold the business to the current Pope and went off to establish another house of ill-repute in another city. (no cite because I can’t remember her name – Uppity Women mentions her, though.

Yes, medieval Popes owned brothels. The amount of sin these princes of the church got up to…

Anthony, it just doesn’t work that way. You have to work at getting the truth, not assume you’ve arrived and just spout it like a prophet calling down the flaming pillars of Yahweh. Remember when you were talking about a gendercidal total-war and that silliness was shown not to be supported by evidence? Or when you claimed that RINOW was advocating throwing unemployed fathers in jail and that was shown not to be the case?

Funny how this truth thing works, isn’t it?

KathleenB – Yeah, there’s some good stories to go with those old Popes!

A while back I read a history of Italy in Macchiavelli’s time, with a story of one tough Duchess. She and her kids were captured on the way to her castle. The garrison would not surrender, so the Duchess volunteered to go in and give the order to surrender. The enemy leader kept her kids as hostages. She went in, stood on the wall and said she’d never surrender. The enemy said, remember we have your kids. She lifted her skirts and said ‘so what? plenty more where they came from!’

Sounds about right. Medieval women who are remembered had to be pretty fucking awesome – how else would anyone make note of what they did? Good or bad by our standards – Elizabeth I had to do some pretty horrible things to stay where she was, Isabella of Castile instituted the fucking Spanish Inquisition – these ladies did amazing things. I’d consider myself lucky to hold a candle to them.
