Science Corner: Why some self-obsessed douchebags hate the ladies so much

I'd do me. Why won't those bitches?

Well, this explains a few things:

Narcissistic Heterosexual Men Target Their Hostility Primarily at Heterosexual Women, the Objects of Their Desires, Study Finds

ScienceDaily (July 29, 2010) — Heterosexual women bear the brunt of narcissistic heterosexual men’s hostility, while heterosexual men, gay men and lesbian women provoke a softer reaction, according to psychologist Dr. Scott Keiller from Kent State University at Tuscarawas. This is likely to be due to women’s unparalleled potential for gratifying, or frustrating, men’s narcissism, the author concludes. They are crucial players and even gatekeepers in men’s quests for sexual pleasure, patriarchal power and status.

More here. The actual study here (subscribers only).

Yes, like a lot of psych studies, it was based on a relatively small sample of college students (104 undergraduate men, to be exact). But after this post yesterday – and, you know, the entire content of this blog — it’s hard not to think that Keiller is on to something.

Oh, and the National Mental Health and Wellbeing survey was drawn from “a representative sample of people aged 16-85 years who lived in private dwellings across Australia”. Not just from people who had suffered violence, and not just people who suffered a mental illness.

You can at least find something other than a blog post for a purported sociological view, can’t you? I mean, photoshop is pretty easy these days, as is making up a throwaway forum name and taking screenshots. Do you have anything from this Biting Beaver herself? I mean, that’s quite a screed! You think it would be easy finding something else somewhere where she accepted it.

Also, why should I even care?

Well, Nobby, you have my permission to doubt facts then. I know feminists have problems with their eyes sometimes. It’s just funny that you will accept some old Penthouse article as scripture and then will not accept multiple sources and screenshots as evidence. But really, it’s all about getting attention and then bowing down, getting attention and then dashing off. I’ll give you your attention as long as you give me my entertainment.

Tho me and my friends found out about it the same way… thru third hand sources… xD

I should ask Anji, since Anji knows Biting Beaver (or at least knows her online) and also seems to believe that she loves and doesn’t hate her son…

http://mothersforwomenslib.com/2009/04/08/on-raising-male-children/

At least in that post she seems to.think BB is, but maybe she didn’t hear about the post?

As I said I think I’ll ask her :3 (i didn’t know they knew each other xD )

I know Anji loves her son v much… she’s an amazingly dedicated and caring mother :3

Oh wait, I reread the beginning xD

She says “at least in Heart’s case” so she does know BB is problematic :3

And FactFinder has, once again, missed the point. Fun!

And my second question still stands. Why should I even care what this random person said?

I found a website that might be relevant to your interests!

Still haven’t found a second source? You may admit defeat, even if you are unable to do so in a respectful and mature way. I know many feminists are naturally catty and sullen, so it will not surprise me.

Hi VoiP, I still won’t “blow you” if that’s what you’re here for.

Shorter FactFinder: I win this thread infinity

Also, since this is part of a regular pattern with trolls around here, now that you’ve declared victory when can we expect the overly-dramatic flounce?

Has this one made transphobic comments? Because it always seems to come after that.

Anji? Or BB?

Hey there, Factfinder! You seem to have all the facts!

I’d like to know what I could do to appeal to men more! How can I get a boyfriend, Factfinder? How can I make a boyfriend happy? What makes women attractive? What do men like? What personality traits should I have? Should I dress skimpy? Should I act demure? Is it better to ask guys a lot of questions, or just sit there looking approachable? Do you like pickles?

If you have these facts, please share them with us!

Just when I thought he couldn’t get any more ludicrous, FactFinder cites Encyclopedia Dramatica as a source.

“Research to date has shown that narcissists’ low empathy, feelings of entitlement, and perceptions of being deprived of ‘deserved’ admiration and gratification can make them prone to aggression and vengeance”

Sound like a wallflower female to me all right.

For example, some of us are careful to not project our mommy issues onto the entire female gender

Maybe. Maybe not. By what standards do we deem one person to have more mommy issues than another? By what criteria are we establishing our pigeon-holes? What am I getting at here? Some of the most manly men around have mommy issues that are just as overwhelming as the mommy issues of any nerd. Consider Italian or Arabic or Scandinavian or Asian cultures. How many cultures do you want to cite in your analysis? Which religions? If a man or woman realizes that he/she has mommy issues, does this mean that he/she has more mommy issues than a man/woman who does not acknowledge them?

So do people who are delivered via cesarean section also have mommy issues, or is it just those who enter the world via the whole between the legs thing?

Does this require a response? 🙂 Ok, I’ll bite… delivery via c-section is unnatural, it is an “interference” with biological processes and natural law, and it is a product of the technology era. It is consistent with the context of the sterile, morally bankrupt cultural values of our zeitgeist 😉 Just playing devil’s advocate.

Hi VoiP, I still won’t “blow you” if that’s what you’re here for.

Hi FactFinder. My entire post was full of insults (No love for “[you’ve got a] Politburo between your ears”?) but it’s awesome that that’s the one you fixated on.

Wow, someone mentioned Biting Beaver! Only an hour after I thought about her… that’s freaky.

Anti-feminists just “love” BB the way they love Andrea Dworkin… she’s a radical feminist who doesn’t mince words, and doesn’t cut men any slack. Probably less slack than she should. I don’t doubt that she did write the “hateful” things she’s accused of writing (I used to read her blog back before it was locked down). But there’s context (as with Dworkin) which the “anti’s” cheerfully ignore because they have such a great need to believe that feminists hate men.

BB was the author of that famous post about how she was unable to get emergency BC pills when she needed them… probably many people who’ve read that post (or otherwise heard the story) don’t know who it came from.

But that’s a digression, because I fail to see how BB is relevant to this thread anyway.

And I’m amused to see that FactFinder is still oblivious to the way that he got this topic rolling in the first place! 😀

chuckeedee: I know you weren’t here when we established this (it was a couple months ago), but blog and forum etiquette, here and elsewhere, says NEVER PLAY THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE. Just say what you actually think.

Yeah, who’s to say what’s real and what’s not? That’s, like, totally deep, man.

(Total fucking mommy issues. Seriously, someone page Dr. Freud.)

Actually, the practice goes back thousands of years.
