Yes, like a lot of psych studies, it was based on a relatively small sample of college students (104 undergraduate men, to be exact). But after this post yesterday – and, you know, the entire content of this blog — it’s hard not to think that Keiller is on to something.

Nobinayamu, the alcohol/consent issue is one that even liberal men seem to have “trouble” with. I put the word in quotes because I don’t really think it’s good-faith confusion. A lot of guys just want loopholes, and they press for fine distinctions: “How many drinks? Blood-alcohol level at 0.8 or 9.8? Does she have to be capable of standing up? Why are you trying to spoil my fun? If I can’t fuck women who are blind-drunk, how will I ever get laid? Answer me that!”

I missed the polygraph part of things. Polygraphs are something I know about.
They Don’t Work. Between the “Clever Hans” problem, and the ways in which the belief in them, on the part of the subject affects the outcome, they are completely unreliable. It’s why they can’t be admitted as evidence.
They aren’t.
I also didn’t see the point in joining the “trial by combat” aspect of rape that RB is all in favor of, but it’s also part of why he’s a rape advocate.
If the penalty for someone not being convicted is death… who in their right mind (give the difficulty in getting a conviction now, where prison is the harshest punishment meted out) would ever file a complaint. All it would take is an honest mistake and one swings for it?
What, one wonders, makes rape such a special crime? No one is asking for this with murder,or simple assault, or fraud, or arson, or shoplifting.
I wonder what it is which makes RB and NWO, and Marc, and I forget all the rest who go on about this, so afraid of being charged with rape that they see it as something which has to be horrifically dangerous to bring a complaint for. What is the neurosis which makes them think women are going to go to all the effort required to get a halfway credible claim of rape initiated, just to get them?
Oh,right… the least hint of rape and all of a sudden the cops are arresting men, and the press is lynching them. That’s what the cop in Toronto said…. “just call us if he offends you, and we’ll lock him up for rape. Don’t worry your pretty little heads, just flash some panties and if he touches you we’ll lock him up.”
And then the went on parades, and did the Monty Python routine, “After teasing, then comes the Rape Arrests”.

@pecunium- one of my favorite cases from evidence was a case from like the 20s or 30s whenever polygraphs first came out where one of attorneys wanted to use one, and the judge was basically like ‘i dont know what this is but it sounds like voodoo and nobody can prove it works so im just gonna go ahead and say no.’

Sharculese, I LOVE women, their capacity for empathy, their softness and attentiveness, their domestic skills (especially when I am the beneficiary), their perceptiveness and patience, their compliance and docility, and above all, their capacity to love men as WE ARE, not as you feminists are always demanding that we should be! You are always demanding that WE should change, but how about you “women” changing? Better still, change back, as you were in the 1950’s, or even better, the 1850’s or 1750’s! We would still keep all of the technology (invented by men, in any event) since then, and people could have a grand old time!

I find it despicable that feminists are so quick to dismiss Random Brother’s suggestion of not dressing like sluts when he’s correct: women who take his advice have nothing to lose. Even if it doesn’t work, at worst, you have slightly fewer clothing choices (which by the way, would vastly improve the view for all heterosexual men) and maybe you don’t kill your brain cells, but if it DOES work, taking that advice would prevent you from being raped, which feminists claim is worse than being murdered.
And yet, feminists don’t seem to care about preventing rape.
This is why feminism is and always will be a hate movement. And why the MRM can’t ever be compared to feminism. MRAs and other ilke-minded men always give each other advice on how to avoid being falsely accused, and we take responsibility. If a man is falsely accused and was, for example, wearing a UFC t-shirt and had a shaved head, then, no it wasn’t his fault (thought you’d catch me victim blaming huh?), but he did make himself a target by presenting himself as a man who likes violence, and a woman will see him as a good potential rapist to cry to the white knights about. And yes, yes, yes, he has the right to wear that, and shave his head, but like women who dress slutty, it’s like waving a piece of meat in front of a hungry dog, or as Random Brother so aptly put it above, he has the right to swear at a gang, but there are consequences to that.
A woman has every right to wear a mini skirt, or a tube top, just like a man has every right to wear baggy jeans, or have a forearm tattoo, but there are consequences to those actions. And there are predators who will be provoked by those choices.
And us men, aren’t afraid to tell each other this, or to say “dude, you did ask for it”. That’s the difference between MRAs and feminists, and that’s the difference between men and women, and that’s why we’re ultimately going to come out on top. We take responsibility and we hold each other accountable.
