How the Other Half Lives, according to dudes who have no idea how the other half lives

Remember, T-Shirts are available!

It’s always handy when one of the MGTOW brethren sums up one of the tribe’s beliefs in a handy little post. The following is what every single MRTOWer out there (not to mention many MRAs and PUAs and even some non-acronymified misogynists) seems to believe about how women live their lives today. When I say “every single MGTOWer” I’m not really exaggerating for impact – well, maybe a teensy bit. But I don’t think I’ve ever run across an MGTOWer who doesn’t take all of the following on faith.

Like many manosphere beliefs about women – like the whole “women only fuck the top 20% of men” thing – there is of course not a shred of evidence for any of this. It’s an essentially religious belief, accepted on faith. MGTOWers are like monks in the douchiest religion ever.

Anyway, fresh from a post by “Rogue” on NiceGuy’s MGTOW forum, here’s how all you ladies are living your lives:

The modern woman’s life plan goes like this:

Step 1) From first sexual awakening throughout her twenties, fuck as many Alpha Asshole men (hereafter referred to as AA) as she can in a quest of sheer narcissistic hedonism. May give birth to an AA spawn during this time; party lifestyle and general female educative path (elementary teacher, social worker) results in shaky finances.

[citation needed]

Step 2) Oops, getting close to or past age 30? Find a Nice Guy Beta (hereafter referred to as NGB), dupe him into marriage with sex (he’s generally grateful for the attention, having had less than stellar success with women throughout his twenties), use his money to stabilize shaky finances. Strong likelihood of having another child or two; may again be AA spawn due to affairs. Pack on 30 pounds of fat (at least!). Cut off sex with NGB since she now has him over a barrel and was never really attracted to him in the first place. Get steadily angrier and more dissatisfied.

[citation needed]

Step 3) Divorce at or slightly before age 40; attempt to remount AA cock carousel, this time as a cougar. Fail miserably because no AA wants an old, fat female body and a loose pussy that looks like a hunk of roast beef that’s been worked over with a dozen ball-peen hammers for a month. Said failure twists her mind until her only remaining pleasure in life is to fuck with ex-NGB in various ways such as taking him back to court to raise CS payments, or denying him visitation rights to his children.

[citation needed]

Step 4) Accept that she’s past her time for the AA cock carousel; become a companion to many cats.

[citation needed]

And what’s with all the cat-hatred, anyway? Cats are adorable, endlessly fascinating little monsters who do no harm to anyone, unless you count all the times my cat has attacked me without provocation and the fact that she just threw up her dinner and is now insistently demanding a second dinner. To paraphrase Samuel L. Jackson’s character in Jackie Brown, you can trust cats to be cats.

Anyway, back to the sermon:

The marriage strike is just an attempt to short-circuit steps 2 and 3, and force women to ride step 1 as long as they can, then transition directly to step 4. Will women like the result if, instead of rushing to save them at age 30, men just shake their heads and walk away? I think it’s an experiment worth trying.

Once again: please, please, please walk away. Walk far away. Become monks in your douchy religion. Just remember that most monks who take a vow of chastity don’t spend the rest of their lives whining about how women are a bunch of filthy bitches.

Oh, and before anyone pops in with a “why do you pick on the outliers, this guy doesn’t represent bla bla bla,” the post (which naturally got nothing but huzzahs on NiceGuy’s forum) was also highlighted on the MRA blog What Men Are Saying About Women as an example of “superb” discussion of the Woman Question. This bullshit is Manosphere-Approved bullshit.

(These threads move to fast. I know what I’m addressing all happened a while ago… *sigh*)

Oooh! I really like your cards Ami! And I second Holly’s choice of the picture with a dragon. It is clearly the best. And could you make me into a card? Please! =D I think I’d be some kind of healer.

I end to have really weird dreams with long, complicated and interesting storylines. For the most part they’re a lot of fun! Except when I’ve been smoking a lot of pot I tend to have really confusing dreams that I have a hard time telling apart from reality and involve things like flowers dying and me losing socks. That’s disorienting. And last night I drempt about checking out wine bottles. Which was really depressing because I just started a job as a cashier at a wine store.

And I honestly think everyone is beautiful. I find all sorts of body types gorgeous, and I get great pleasure in exploring new people’s bodies and bringing them pleasure. In fact, I’d like to try haveing ex with someone in their 6o’s or 70’s or up, to see what their like. But the social taboos on it make me afraid. And I don’t know that many people who are that old, and I’m a little nervous about advertising from someone on the internet.

On “moralizing” – MRAs, at least the sort featured here (and we’re still looking for any other sort…) are evil. They believe that some humans are lesser than others and deserve worse treatment, and that is evil. It’s worth moralizing against.

However, because MRAs are so ineffective and their arguments are so silly, it’s also sort of a funny evil. So we laugh and moralize. The two are not incompatible.

Yes, but not all of their arguments are equally silly. Though there may be no website that’s “decent”, there may be many single blog post that are.

Cherry picking & moralizing & mocking something are incompatible.

So what do you think is a not-silly or less-silly MRA argument?

1: What is is you feel we need to be cured of?
2: Why do you care about us?
3: Why do you think your brand of, “tough love” is going to suddenly lift the scales from our eyes?

It’s not as if this is some sudden conversion we’ve had. This is the product of years (decades) of seeing this sort of stuff, and coming to conclusions. You may not like my conclusions, but it’s hard to look at what I write here and not think I’ve not considered them.

So… if you are going to “cure” me… it’s gonna take a lot of work. You are, among other things, going to have to show me 1: how my present beliefs and understandings hurt me, and 2: what benefits I will gain from coming to your view ?

Because your view isn’t clear to me. You say you think the MRA/MGTOW type are deluded, and beyond your help, so you don’t try to show them the error of their ways, but we (who don’t really think they are all that likely to listen. I am arguing for the benefit of those who might see their crap and think it explains the problems in their lives and so end up an MGTOW/MRA, bitter and hateful) are, in some way salvageable.

What is it you want to help us to become? Because if what you want to convince me that mocking people who are trying to make the world a worse place for me, my loved ones amd my family is a bad thing… fuggedddaboudit.

I may be wrong about what they are doing, but you are going to have to convince me they aren’t before I’ll stop.

“Secondly, it’s misogynist to claim that the reasonable reaction to any woman reporting or talking about being raped is to assume she’s lying.”

link/quote plz

“It’s misogynist to assume that women have an interest in destroying men by lying about rape or harassment. “

Fine… show us the reasonable ones.

Ami: Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

You know all those news stories a few years ago about all the missing bees? Where are they? What happened to the bees?

I know. But I’m not telling.

Yet.

Cherry picking & moralizing & mocking something are incompatible.

So we ought to cherry pick the good posts and assume that all the evil stuff is what… there for the lulz?

And then what shall we do about the reactions to those posts. Anyone could then say… you can’t believe the rantings of a few extremists. But when you look at the comment streams… they agree with the posts. A lot of the comments are about how the poster was too kind to women.

The thing is… the bad posts far outweigh the not-so bad ones, but the comments… try to make a one which defends a feminist position… just try. See what you get.

“there may be many single blog post that are”

We need more than that. A stopped clock is right twice a day, but that’s not enough to keep it from getting thrown out.

I really liked Holly’s description of “funny evil”. I grapple with stuff we’ve talked about here on other sites (abortion, fat hatred, etc), but I had to take Shakesville off my RSS reader because, even though the posts there are wonderful, afterwards I’m often left feeling depressed about the world. Manboobz is way more fun, and I get to practice speaking up and fighting back in a way I don’t usually get to on other sites.

Apply this argument from David:

“he has spent the last several years searching out news stories on false rape accusations to post on his blog. Because there are almost 7 billion people on planet earth, he has been able to find a fair number of such stories. ”

to yourself.

There are some bad people, yes. ESPECIALLY on the Internet where they are disinhibited by their anonymity.

Of course nobody makes a blog against the real dangers like Islam… that would… be dangerous.

Okay, you can go away now.

(No, I’m not explaining to you why Islam, the religion, is not a “real danger.” That’s a lot of work to teach a pig to sing.)

You know I could almost, ALMOST take you seriously until that comment. I am a feminist who loves to mock MRAs and I adore Islam and my Islamic uncle. I cannot be cured. Will you leave now?

There are tons of blogs and websites that post articles about the danger of Islam, and support racial profiling of Muslims.

The fuck are you on about?

Holly Pervocracy

Marc – If I tell you that you’re a chronic liar, that you want to ruin people’s lives for your petty amusement, that crimes against you shouldn’t even be investigated because you’re such a liar, and that your only value to society is as a warm orifice, will you think:

“She’s wrong about me, but I mustn’t make any assumptions; perhaps she was merely misinformed!”
or
“I think she maybe doesn’t like me.”

Molly Ren

“Apply this argument from David:

I don’t think the stuff David blogs about is part of the larger feminist/humanist discourse. I don’t think all men are MRAs, or that the MRAs are a huge social problem. They’re just SO wrong it’s fascinating to watch them write themselves into corners or explode with frustration.
