Men’s Rights Classix: The Age of Consent is Misandry

If it weren't for this guy, there would be no pedophiles.

Today, a trip down memory lane to revisit an until-recently lost classic of modern misogyny: Jay Hammers’ “The Age of Consent is Misandry.” The piece, originally published on Jay Hammers’Men’s Rights blog, inspired some heated discussions amongst MRAs online, with some harshly criticizing the piece as an apologia for pedophilia and others hailing it as a “politically incorrect” masterpiece. Stung by the criticism, Hammers ultimately took his blog down. But the piece has since been resurrected on the Human-Stupidity blog – another blog that seems rather unhealthily obsessed with the supposed injustice of men not being allowed to fuck underage girls.

Here are some of its highlights (that is, lowlights); the headlines are mine.

ALL ABOUT THE MENZ

The arbitrary age of consent is not about protecting women/girls. It is about valuing females and their virtue over males and their freedom. The intent of the laws is to stop older men from having sex with younger women and that is how it is enforced. It was never intended to stop younger men from having sex with older women.

MORE BETA BLUES

Age of consent laws are designed to punish beta males. A beta male in his 20s, unsuccessful with women his own age who are infused with a sense of feminist entitlement and deride all but the top alpha males who take interest in them, who seeks companionship with a younger, sexually mature female who desires him, should not go to prison for acting on that which is normal male sexuality.

FEMINISTS WHO SUPPORT AGE OF CONSENT LAWS ARE TREATING WOMEN LIKE CHILDREN

If we are to treat women as children then we should be consistent. Young women who have sex with older men are as much victims as women who have sex with a pick-up artist after meeting at a club. In both cases, feminists are angry because the woman has been “fooled” into having sex with a less than ideal mate in terms of value. …

This is what makes feminists angry and this is why age of consent exists still today, because it is assumed women are not mentally mature enough to give consent AND because older women want to limit men’s options to increase their own value in the sexual marketplace.

BUT WOMEN ARE CHILDREN, BASICALLY

Older women …  are generally not of a much higher intelligence level than teenage girls. The big difference between the two is that older women are less attractive and that is what makes them so damn angry. …

Females generally do not significantly mature mentally past puberty so it should always be illegal for any woman to have sex or it should never be illegal for any woman to have sex. There is no arbitrary age where females suddenly become self-aware, realizing the consequences of their actions, and stop seeking out alpha males. Thus there must not be an arbitrary age of consent for sex.

A MODEST PROPOSAL

If anything, it should be illegal for women to have sex with men until men have been educated on the truths of women, Marriage 2.0, Game, feminism, and men’s rights.

Discuss?

omg omg omg everyone.

I know it was a ways back – I haven’t even read this whole page yet – but NWO cited a real source!! For the first time ever!! I am so excited.

“Science, differences in brain structure between men and women. Discounted, runs contrary to ideology, therefore false.
http://www.boysadrift.com/2007Giedd.pdf

Great. Good source! Methodology looks good too me (though I know others far more critical of neuroanatomy-quantification studies) but it still leaves two questions (which you will probably completely ignore, but I have to try):
1. To what extent are these differences genetic? To what extent are they developmental?
1a. Which genes regulate them?
2. How do this structural differences translate into behavioral differences?
2a. How do you connect structural features–>behavioral features in a careful, controlled, manner?

SO. Not discounted. Definitely counted. Have heard multiple posters here mention that they accept that there can, in fact, be genetic brain differences between men and women, but finding a behavioral difference doesn’t NECESSARILY mean it stems from a genetic difference. It can. But you know what you need? *drumroll* Evidence!

But now, of course, my questions are going to be discounted…’cause they’re hard, and admitting that we, as a community, do not not really know the answers kinda puts a dent in the certainty of NWO’s overall argument…

back to reading….

@Kirby yeah.. it wasn’t about nething but THEM at all.. and “I want to have sex with young kids”… >_<;;

It's also ironic that with all the "gay ppl are pedophiles, look at NAMBLA!" etc etc stuff to attack queer ppl… that hetero pedophilia apparently is just fine w/ them o_o;;

I must admit, as a straight dude, I’m not terribly concerned about the attractiveness of the Doctors thus far.

I do have a friend who thought David Tennant was annoying and unattractive, but started watching the show because she thought Matt Smith was hot. It takes all kinds, I guess.

Oh, and yes, a non-white and/or non-cisman Doctor would be awesome. I think there was some talk of having the 10th Doctor regenerate kind of into Rose (kinky!) because he loved her so much (and who wouldn’t? I still get totally irrationally angry about the Doctor-River Song thing, because he’s completely forgotten about Rose! Even though everyone gets over break ups, especially trans-dimensional ones, but my lizard brain is all WTF HE IS TOTALLY CHEATING ON HER), but either they decided against it or Billy Piper was too busy on Belle du Jour.

Now I really am going! Night all!

Guys, Guys, I am trying to catch up. Will you please stop posting?

Slavie, I still hate you, a lot. Really. Please shut up.

*hugs* for Holly about having to sleep on the floor because of that doucebag. That really makes me angry.

I had sex for the first time when I was 19 with someone who was 32. While not quite an age of consent issue, I was very young, and that was a very large age gap. I don’t really think there was an abuse of power or anything, and I don’t exactly regret the sex. But I do regret the ensuing relationship, and, honestly, I would not recommend that kind of age gap for people’s first relationship. : /

One of my big issues with young people and bodily autonomy is young trans kids. Because the hormone treatment tends to take better if started at a younger age, but I really do think that a lot of kids are still really confused and not necessarily able to make an informed decision about weather or not they are ready to start hormonal transitioning. It’s a difficult issue!

And now I’m going back to reading comments, and I’m sure none of this is relevant anymore.

@Holly I dunno… I haven’t had any US friends mention it…. occasionally ppl know I have SOME sort of accent but not what.. (it’s possible it has to do w/ Chinese being my first language… until I was like 13, I couldn’t pronounce certain sounds in English… like “th”… I still can’t say “thr” like “through” or “three”)

I know whenever I say “eh” (which is rare xD but “eh” is essentially the American “huh” like “What do you think of that huh?” I remember reading some article say that it sounds friendlier and less combative than huh, but I dunno xD ) my US friends clap and get excited, and tell me to do it again XD

I feel like a lot of types of regional accents are vanishing or starting to merge together, since a lot of kids are learning their English from American TV…

Er, I actually hate Rose with the white-hot passion of a thousand suns. To each their own…

Go Donna!

MRAL: Not saying Eoghan’s a hero, but he is quite well-respected in the MRA community for his work in taking the feminists to task.

If that’s what passes for “taking the feminists to task,”… wow. I mean it’s a lot or words, but not long on ideas, arguments or coherence.

Also, “I’m not going to argue, just say shit and then pretend you can’t refute/rebut it” isn’t really all that stellar.

Honestly you are MUCH better than he is at arguing.

Then again, your later comment, about owing nothing, to nobody… It was Hillel who said (sometime before Jesus, so this is an old thought, and someone thought it worth recording, and keeping) “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? But if I am only for myself, who am I? If not now, when?” (the link is to an interpretation of what it all means; not so oddly it relates to both feminism, and men’s rights)

I mean really dude… if your attitude is basically, Fuck you Jack, I got mine, it’s no wonder you don’t have many friends, much less lovers.

And dude… the whining, so not appealing. I’ve seen your, “suffering” and “hardships”… I wouldn’t like to be blind in one eye… then again I’d also like to not have flaring joint pain, intermittent conjunctivitis, a deformed toe, loss of sensation in my hands, Reynauds, the possibility of total blindness, twisted spine, and early death from sudden heart failure.

So… yanno, you pays your money and you takes your chances, life ain’t fair and no one leaves alive. I can’t make time stand still, yet I will make him run.

@Spearhafoc I like Rose except for her crying inability to let go of the Doctor -_-;; (personal pet peeve, applies to both male and female chars, I think it’s a bit of a childhood trigger for me xD ) But I was gonna say DONNA too xD Donna is awesome! :3 And I was so sad they wiped her memory and stuff : I loved super smart Donna… it made me think that that actress would be perfect for a female Doctor :3

@Holly,

Also being Canadian, yes we do say “eh?” a lot, but “aboot” no, generally not in Ontario. Newfoundlanders maybe. lol

So there. Nyah.

MRAL:

“Being average height and average looking is totes worse than semi-starvation?”

Yes. It is. I don’t know what else to say.

Yanno… I keep thinking you are doing all right, then you say stupid shit like this. Honestly, if you believe that… If you really believe that…

Then there is no hope for you, and people ought to spit on you, not metaphorically, but actually. I’ve been hungry (though not semi-starved). I’ve seen people who were starving. Being a little less tall than agerage. Being blind in one eye (you know, my Library Science Instructor was missing one eye…he had a glass one, and he was about 5’7″. He had a wife, kids, seemed happy… I wonder what he had that you don’t…actually, I don’t: I surmise it was compassion and empathy, but I digress), being short, and having a bad eye is nothing like going hungry, and it sure as fuck isn’t anything like starving.

@Alex I’ve heard an American friend once say I say aboot… but I heard him as saying “AB-OWW-T”… so I think that it’s a difference for some ppl (or regions) about the ou sound.. if you usually say it more “oww” then you’ll hear “oo” when ppl aren’t doing that, and vice versa, but I think we’re all hearing OURSELVES say the word the same way (if that makes sense)

@MRAL:

Yup, it actually is. Modern games are desigined by neo-feminists to enforce the idea that any gender can do anything (though clearly men are much better at those heavy-lifting things. Oh, and they are smarter, so they beat women in magic as well.)

Have you looked at David’s links yet? Are you even going to bother?

Ami Angelwings

@Holly He prolly thinks that Pac-Man (yellow guy eating white dots) is some sort of Asian Invasion brainwashing tool to get white kids used to the inevitable Chinese take over of America xD

Pecunium

Sorry Dave didn’t see the post.

NWO: I’ve looked at that study… Here’s the money quote:

Differences in brain size between males and females should not be
interpreted as implying any sort of functional advantage or disadvantage.
Size/function relationships are complicated by the
inverted U shape of developmental trajectories and by the myriad
factors contributing to structure size, including the number and size of
neurons and glial cells, packing density, vascularity, and matrix
composition. However, an understanding of the sexual dimorphism
of brain development, and the factors that influence these trajectories,
may have important implications for the field of developmental
neuropsychiatry where nearly all of the disorders have different ages
of onset, prevalence, and symptomatology between boys and girls.

Pecunium – It’s frustrating to be presented with some really interesting–if, by the own authors’ admission, inconclusive–research by some guy who only read as far as “women’s brains are smaller!”

Because there is such a thing as physical sex differences. That’s kindergarten obvious.

And yet not necessarily significant from a rights perspective. It’s transparently obvious to prove, for example, that gay people are different from straight people–I mean, look at the partners they choose! Totally different! We accord them equal rights not because they are the same as straight people, but because despite their difference they are still just as human.
