Bostonians and Toronto-ites! Man Boobz Party Time!

Calling all Man Boobzers!

Hey Torontoites! Some Man Boobzers are organizing a little get-together for this upcoming weekend. Check the comments here for details as they become available, and post a note if you’re interested. Or check in directly with Ami Angelwings on her blog.

Meanwhile the joint Pervocracy-Man Boobz Boston meetup is happening this Friday (the 17th) at 6:00 PM at the Prudential Center. More details here; check in with Holly ([email protected]) if you’re planning to go.

And if you’re somewhere else and want to organize a get-together, post your location below. I’m going to organize a Chicago get together, probably the weekendΒ  after next. And it looks like we’ve got enough people in the Bay Area and in Madison/Milwaukee; anyone want to organize a get-together in either place? (Or have you Bay Area folks already started organizing?) Some DC people have already had a little get together. So let’s do this!!!11!!

Should we start up some actual meetup.com groups? Or it is easier to do it informally here and by email?

Also, Ami, during your performance MRART piece, I was figuring it was spoofing; it was popular amongst the trolls for a time at Sadly, No.

But you were WAY funnier. If also WAAAAAYYYYYYYYY too convincing.

If it’s all the same to you, Ami, I’d rather not go up to Fairview because I’ll probably be on my bike. So maybe Dundas Square-ish? I don’t know, what’s around there that isn’t always packed with a zillion people? We could meet in the square itself and then go somewhere from there.

There used to be an awesome place at Gerrard and Yonge called “Maison du Croissant” that had, you guessed it, AMAZING croissants, but it closed when y’all were probably still in junior high. *shakes fist at old age and gentrification*

BTW, I will be wearing a white and black skirt and a red Tshirt with a stylized picture of Tammy Faye Bakker crying on it. Unless it’s raining – in that case I’ll be wearing a powder blue waterproof jacket that smells like campfire smoke.

Where do you live Kristin? (about where)

I have no idea what I’ll be wearing, but spotting ME is never the problem xD I’ve had ppl I’ve never even MET that know me from various comms I’m in just say HEY IT’S YOU if they live in Toronto and run into me and I’m like O_O WHO ARE YOU

Just for the record, I totally second the idea of having frequent Manboobz meet-ups in DC! Our first one rocked all kinds of socks, so if we could grab a few more people to share the love with, that’d be totally rad.

Dundas Square-ish is ideal for me (apart from the crowds). I live just a few blocks away from there (at Yonge & Wellesley). Saturday afternoon also works for me.

Thoughts?

We could meet in the Atrium on Bay, there’s less crowds there :3 Or at the Starbucks at Yonge and Wellesley.. or College Park… or the Starbucks at College and Yonge… if Dundas Sq or Eaton Centre is too crowded…

I live around Coxwell and Gerrard, but I’ll be out that morning around St Clair and Bathurst, so Dundas Square/College Park is ideally located about halfway home. πŸ™‚

How ’bout Starbucks at College and Yonge? If it’s super crowded we can always walk a block or so to the next closest Starbucks. XD

or the food court in College Park, since the meet up in Boston is in a food court…. could be nice symmetry :3

I think I counted, like, four of us in the SFBay area? Is that enough to do a meetup? I’d do it but I kinda thought we need at least half a dozen…

Sure, let’s do that. 2:00, College Park food court?

It’s okay–I can have a Hawaii meetup by myself.

(I find some consolation in the fact that, while I live really far from everyone else in the world, I live in fuckin’ Hawaii. It does help.)

Don’t feel, too bad chocomint, it could be worse, in terms of far-away-ness!

Speaking of which,
How about a meetup in Sapporo, Japan? Anyone? Anyone?

Western New South Wales?

Western NSW, hey? I know it’s the interwebs, but can you get more specific? I have family around there anyway. Nevertheless, I think it’d be a pretty small meeting!

Oh, and fyi David – in the ‘About Manboobz’ spiel there’s typo: “amd” instead of “and”.

I’m in the Bay. I’m moving to New Jersey in six weeks. On July 9th I’ll be having a combined going away/birthday party. I am having a party

You caught me out Lyn, that was an exaggeration. I’m actually in Orange.

It’s west of Sydney! Totally counts πŸ™‚ And when I said I had family ‘around there’ – I meant Uralla. Not very close to you at all (or very western, for that matter).

And oh, David, I was sure you meant to do it as a comment on the stupidity of those you mock…but I thought I would point it out because it could be misconstrued πŸ˜‰

B/c of how far I live from the city, I would like it if the meet up was later than 2.. like 3 if possible 😐 But I can do 2 too if that’s best for others.

So far to refresh ppl’s brains:

Saturday, June 18

College Park Food Court (everybody knows where this is right?)

I’ll try to get there first so ppl can recognize me xD

3 works for me, if that’s ok with everyone else.

College Park food court is the food court in the basement, right? Next to Metro?
