Pre-internet bloggers in action. |
Just a note: For the rest of the week — through Sunday — I’ll be guest blogging on Feministe. My first post there is a slightly reworked version of my recent Scott Adams post here. (I also posted something introducing myself to the Feministe crowd.) I’ll post pointers here every time I post something there. Just so you know, comments there are a lot more heavily moderated than comments here.
I’m also going to be posting here too, of course, though my posts may be a little on the short side.
>I don't respect your intelligence enough to defend myself against supposed racism. If you want to think that, your defective brain will. Not my problem.Moving on, the Duke Rape case is so useful because of how feminists reacted to it. It forwarded the goals of the MRM by showcasing how hypocritical their cause is. It bothers you so much because you cannot justify the mainstream feminist's reaction to it. Until I get a satisfactory answer which can adequately justify the mainstream feminist reaction, I will continue to bring up these "exceptions" which expose your feminist bigotry, no matter how much you complain.Anyone who thinks that The Feminine Mystique was written by Andrea Dworkin does not actually know enough about feminism to be worth debating on the subject.I know the effects of feminism, such as the character assassination of the Duke Lacrosse team members. I apologize if confusing one Marxist bigot who puts forth unverifiable claims for another upset you.
>So do you support doing things like this for rape accusations String?
>"I know the effects of feminism, such as the character assassination of the Duke Lacrosse team members. I apologize if confusing one Marxist bigot who puts forth unverifiable claims for another upset you."Upsetting? No, it's actually pretty funny watching you claim to be our intellectual superior right after getting caught with your ass out like that.
>I don't respect your intelligence enough to defend myself against supposed racism. If you want to think that, your defective brain will. Not my problem.Well, then, it's a good thing I specifically said I wasn't accusing you of it.
>We're talking about two different things, here, Stringy. I was responding to your allegation that the Duke case was a miscarriage of justice. In fact, it was just the opposite: the charges were dropped, and the prosecutor was fired and disbarred. For the falsely accused, it doesn't get much better than that. This is not to say that their experience was a walk in the park, but it hardly qualifies as a miscarriage of justice when compared to so many others that have occurred.
>Ah, but mon capitaine, don't you see? The woman got off scott free and that's what's bugging our brave woman hater. He wants to see her punished. Something happened in that house. I mean, her fingernails were found in the bathroom. How'd that happen?Just try and get the MRAs to acknowledge all the men who allege false accusations of false accusations—which is a huge proportion of men. Maybe their pointy little heads will explode.
>By at least twenty to fifty years in prison. Or whatever their paranoid delusional minds think the max prison term for rape is.
>I certainly have been forced to read feminist texts* from elementary all the way through college, so a voluntary perusal of one brief article should not be too much to ask.I don't know what elementary school you went to where you read feminist texts, but I wish I'd gone there.
>Yeah, a feminist 'text' is anything that doesn't say, "Women suck, you're totally better than them," and a false accusation that was investigated, cleared, and resulted in the DA being fired is insufficient justice. They really have a hard on for that woman—and I use that phrase deliberately. The rage MRAs have about so-called 'false' accusations is so out of proportion to the real actual risk of being the object of one of them that you have to wonder why they're so fearful. Could it be guilt? What does the proverb say? The guilty flee where no man pursueth?
>Yes, ginmar, this goes to my point up above: even if their obsession with false rape allegations isn't fueled by guilt, it demonstrates a staggering lack of empathy. These guys don't give a rat's ass about justice or injustice. They only care about things that might affect them. Thus, false rape accusations are worse than rape itself–unless, of course, we're talking about prison rape, which is worse than all the rapes that have ever happened to women since the fall of Rome. To the MRA, oppression is only oppression if it happens to me or people like me–otherwise, who gives a shit? They are the libertarians of the world of gender politics. As for the Duke Lacrosse case, I don't know enough confirmed details one way or the other to even speculate on the players' guilt or innocence. I was assuming they were falsely accused solely for the sake of argument.
>The fact is, these guys believe that there are staggering amounts of lying women out there, gleefully sending men to jail. All the evidence argues against this. It's staggering trying to figure out what universe they're in.
>I tell you, it's enough to make one want to get staggering drunk. 😉
>Yes, ginmar, this goes to my point up above: even if their obsession with false rape allegations isn't fueled by guilt, it demonstrates a staggering lack of empathy. While a callous disregard of anyone falsely accused demonstrates… empathy? Also, I know you have this pet theory about how anyone who disagrees with your enlightened dogma is egocentric. It does, however, raise the question as to the presence of women in the MRM. Are they evil because they worry about the treatment of their friends, husbands, and sons? But hey, I'm sure you're too smart to bother with such trivial details. Shine on, you crazy feminists. Shine on.
