Dubstep kitty video party

It’s been kind of a rough week here at Man Boobz manor, so today, we’re just going to have a dubstep kitty video party. Watch as many as you dare. Talk amongst yourselves.

WARNING: Videos might induce seizure. Seriously, they might. Lots of flashing lights.

  1. The videos are cute but the music is horrible.

  2. I was just thinking that dubstep is kind of awesome. I had not heard it before. Old person is old, I guess (and dorky).

  3. Fuck, I am getting old. I don’t get this dubstep shit, to me it sounds like a bad copy of a copy of Aphex Twin’s “Come to Daddy.” Which, by the way, is a song you shouldn’t listen to through headphones.

  4. Every time I listen to dubstep I think “this just doesn’t make sense because I’m sober.”

  5. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:

God inflicted dubstep on us that we may rise above the adversity and create grime

(Although dubstep does sound much better when you lack sobriety)

  6. Shadow, have you heard the new Wiley? “Boom Blast” is a good dance cut.

  7. Music is language, each genre has its own aesthetic, and listening to a genre where you don’t ‘get’ the grammar is equivalent to hearing German or Chinese when you don’t know the language: it sounds like gobbledygook, you can’t make heads or tails of any given sound unit in the ‘sentence’, and so it all sounds alike, like noise.

I’ve listened to so many genres that have weird aesthetics or even come close to having anti-aesthetics (the 80-86 hardcore punk wave’s embrace of ’3 chords, as fast as possible so nobody can hear the false notes’) that I’m not going to go ‘kids get off my lawn’ just from the fact that I totally don’t get dubstep. If anything, I’m intrigued to learn more about the history, so I can understand how it came to follow that Form.

  8. What I heard through the vines though is that dubstep is basically what happened when punks decided to do electronic music, so that might be why I’m intrigued. ;)

  9. @Hellkell

Yeah, it’s pretty decent. I’m not a big fan of Wiley TBH, he has great beats but I find him lacking lyrically. Throw on any random Dizzee track, however, and you’ll see my Kool Aid grin :)

  10. Wub wub wub wub
    Rub rub rub rub
    Mrub mrub mrub mrub
    Mrew mrew mrew mrew
    Meow meow meow meow!

  11. I should have been more specific–I get what dubstep is and where it came from–I don’t LIKE dubstep.

  12. I like Skrillex though I’m sure the “true” fans of dubstep don’t like him since he’s mainstream or something. I still find it funny that he used to be the frontman for From First to Last, a screamo band.

My favorite electronic musicians are Daft Punk, Deadmau5 and Robert Miles.

Also happy friday and yay kitties! :D

  13. actually speaking of kitties, Deadmau5 frequently gifts fans with adorable videos/pics of his cat Meowingtons

  14. @Shadow: I don’t mind Dizzee’s stuff, I especially like his re-working of “Dirty Cash,” which is one of my favorite 80′s dance tracks.

  15. @Hellkell

Yeah, that was a dope track. Funny enough, the first thing i thought when I heard it was “I wish Wiley’s Cash In My Pocket was done by Dizzee instead” I can’t even pretend to be impartial about Dizzee, especially after he worked with UGK and gave me eargasms from hearing three of my favorite emcees together lol I don’t know if you’ve listened to the whole Tongue ‘N Cheek album, but the track Can’t Tek No More is jaw-droppingly awesome

Do you work with the UK scene on a professional basis too, or is it just a personal interest?

  16. Shadow, I do work in the music business, but the UK stuff is just personal interest.

  17. I just find dubstep dull. The kitties are cute, though.

  18. I wasn’t real familiar with either genre-never even heard of grime- but having listened to some of the vids here, I’m with Shadow, I think. That was more interesting. Dubstep hurts my widdle head.

  19. CassandraSays

Whenever I am unfortunate enough to hear dubstep I just think “this would sound so much better if I was wasted”. It’s the musical equivalent of that annoying drunk shouty person at a party who won’t leave you alone.

And like Hellkell said, no, it’s not that I don’t understand the musical reference points. I just don’t like it.

  20. Everyday I’m pugstepping o_o

  21. CassandraSays

I do like MassageTabby in the last video, though.

  22. Crumbelievable

I’d much rather go with Rock and Kill Kitties than Dubstep ones

  23. Crumbelievable

Rock and Roll*..that was an odd typo

  24. CassandraSays

Are Rock and Kill kitties cats that love death metal?

  25. Ha, the Rather Good kitties! I love that series.

  26. Kittens for all musical tastes!
    http://thekittencovers.tumblr.com/

  27. @Crumb

That cat makes rock and kill seem more appropriate lol

    @belledame

Grime is a British genre that hasn’t really made it over the pond

  28. I HEART METH ADDLED LIGHTSABRE COCKSUCKING RAEG KITTIES. AND RATHERGOOD.

  29. @belledame222

A few minutes later, he blamed prosecutors. Then his court-appointed attorney. Then the sheriff’s department. Then the justice system. Then all women.

Hmmm….sound like a certain group of exceptionally noxious internet trolls we know?

Not once did he apologize or take responsibility for his crimes, choosing instead to nitpick every fine detail of the evidence against him as a broad conspiracy to imprison him.

    Wow…conspiracy theorist too huh?

    Interesting indeed.

  30. much smaller woman gets punched in the face, MRAs rejoice

    hxxp://www.avoiceformen.com/women/a-short-lesson-in-reality/

  31. dear lord the MRA shitstorm on the youtube video is both depressing and hilarious.

    ACTIVISM!

  32. I really hate “IT’S NOT MY FAULT!!!” when it is, in fact, their fault. I’ve known many good people who blame themselves for things totally out of their control, or for decisions that are totally understandable once you realize the circumstances. I’ve also known many good people with depression who blame themselves for many things that aren’t remotely their fault. I feel bad that they regret these things that really aren’t their fault. But choices that a person makes that are totally in their control and then they suffer the consequences of their actions? No sympathy whatsoever, plus I think they’re horrible human beings for trying to blame the rest of humanity on their poor choices.

I learned that the “I DIDN’T DO IT” defense when I clearly did do something didn’t work, and it was a painstaking process that resulted in many missed treats when I was child. Also, this same painstaking process taught me that actions have consequences*. Some people just really need to learn this.

*I’ve heard “actions have consequences” used in abortion debates, and it pisses it me off. Mostly because the person saying it is the type of (usually male) person who would try to weasel out of said consequences if they could, sticking someone (usually female) else with it. I don’t view sex as privilege to be earned, it’s just a fun thing people do, and you shouldn’t be saddled with a lifetime responsibility if you have sex. Also, these people clearly do not understand “actions have consequences” because using birth control (including abortion) is an action and the consequence is to have sex without worrying about pregnancy.

  33. I feel a little bad for her, but not that much. If you persistently attack a person who is backing away from you, this kind of thing can happen. Ideally he would have used less force than this to make his “stop attacking me” point, but street altercations are rarely ideal. My personal approach to a moment like this was to block her shots until she hurt herself trying to hit me and took the hint, but you can only express that kind of reserve when the attacker is not a real threat (which appears to be the case in this video.)

If the attacker had been male, I think everyone would have reacted differently, and I’m not sure that this difference in treatment remains appropriate in 2012. Certainly I would not just block another man’s shots, I’d do my best to communicate to him, physically, that he should never attack me again, ever. (Mostly I’d get my ass kicked because I’m not much of a fighter.) But men… are not women. Equality is not androgyny, and Mars/Venus has a strong current of truth to it. I think violence is sometimes part of inter-male hierarchy and status, and women don’t normally participate in that kind of nonsense, so male attacker and female attacker are different situations even without considering physical capability. My feelings are conflicted here, it seems to me that the “never hit a woman back” taboo exists in a quantum state of both appropriate and not appropriate.

I’m curious to hear what people think about this issue.

  34. You know, I think the video might have been legit self-defense; she was taking swings at the guy and he only hit her once; I’m not sure he meant to knock her out. It was overkill but it wasn’t massive overkill; he didn’t come back and hit her again when she was down or anything.

The way the MRAs are enjoying it is, however, not a celebration of self-defense. They just like seeing a woman get hit.

Seeing a privileged, violent woman like this physically attack a man, expecting no repercussions due to her pussy pass, get what’s coming to her… it puts a smile on my face.

Nice find! 2:06 summed it up quite nicely:
“you bitches, get your shit together”
    *nods head*

And it wouldn’t be an MRA site if this guy didn’t show up…

I’m somewhat excited for when shit hits the fan and society collapses. I welcome it. Then we get to sit back and say “see, I told ya so”

  35. Just goes to show, MRA inactivsim consists entirely of men cheering women being beaten.

  36. What I gotta ask is, if society collapses, where will these guys be “sitting back” exactly? Do they all have secret bunkers? I kinda doubt it.

  37. Sounds reasonable to me Holly. In other news, you just taught me that more than one semicolon can be used within a sentence structure; I’m very excited, and can’t wait to try it out.

  38. I don’t know. In the video it looks like her swings were pretty blatantly ineffectual. I don’t know if it was as much self defense as it was him getting tired of her swinging at him. Which I think is fine, but a hard shove or slap would have been sufficient. Clocking her seems overkill. Though, I’m pretty sure I feel that way because it’s a woman attacking a man. I’ve been around similar situations where it was two men or two women and just laughed, but I get really uncomfortable when the fighters are not of the same gender.

    @Dracula

They’ll probably be sitting back because of the sudden increase in people that feel comfortable knocking them on their asses for the shit they say. But atleast they’ll be able to say I told you so.

  39. Wub wub wub wub
    Rub rub rub rub
    Mrub mrub mrub mrub
    Mrew mrew mrew mrew
    Meow meow meow meow

  40. huh that’s weird. Do youtube videos get caught in moderation hell?

  41. I think that if you try to attack someone you should expect them to fight back, whether you’re a man or woman. So I don’t feel that bad for her. Nevertheless, it was overkill. If it was a bigger woman I’d understand but come on look how small she is, and she wasn’t brandishing a weapon and there were other ways to better deal with the situation such as restraining her or a hard shove. MRAs know this. They know she can’t hurt him but being the sick fucks they are, they get off on seeing women being hit by men. Like Holly said they’re not celebrating self defense, they’re celebrating uppity women getting their comeuppance for not adhering to their feminine gender role. Meanwhile men fighting is just normal and if this was a fight between two men they wouldn’t be celebrating like this. It’s not a fair fight and they know it.

This is what really bugs me about situations like these. In general…not always, but in general, men are physically stronger than women. Particularly in upper body strength. MRAs never shy away from smugly proclaiming that men are stronger than women, but then in the next sentence they pretend that as many men are severely injured or dead or feel as much fear because of their female wives or girlfriends who commit DV on them. Its bullshit and even the studies they favor acknowledge this.

I’m not saying any of this to excuse female on male (or female on anyone) violence. It is just as wrong and should be condemned. However in this instance it was overkill and there was a big size difference. It was not a fair fight.

  42. @Dracula

I hate their smarmy, condescending attitude. The way some MRAs write is reminiscent of those highschool snots that think they’re so much better than everyone else when in reality everyone can’t stand them because they’re such arrogant douchebags.

Hey MRAs? keep dreaming. If society collapses (which it most likely wont and if it does its not because the wimminz got out of line) you’re going down like everybody else. You are not special no matter how much you think you are. Get over yourselves.

  43. Crumbelievable

“I too am resigned to collapse. I certainly don’t think it’s a good thing though, it’s definately going to fuck my retirement up, and probably cut my life much shorter then it would otherwise be. But then again, if things roll on like they are……so will that. There are two giant shit sandwiches, one of them is going to be fed to all in society….or….an even bigger one will be fed to just men. The man only shit sandwich is business as usual, including increased misandry and feminist governance, the other shit sandwich that will be shared by all, is called collapse. That’s the only thing that can stop the madness. So I vote for collapse.” (5 +, 0 -)

I always get a kick out of seeing MRAs indulge in their ultra-libertarian fantasies about “The Endtimes”. I usually only see this kind of talk over at The Spreadhead but I guess those guys have been passing the Kool-aid around freely.

  44. Crumbelievable

Also, you gotta love the MRM’s stalwart commitment to non-violence:
Violence is bad, unless you deserved it.

  45. “The wimminz and their voting and child support….this is madness!!!”

    “No. This is FEMINISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

    sorry…couldn’t help it XD

  46. Crumbelievable

I’m guessing the ‘feminist governance’ bit is like the shadow government. Sure, it LOOKS like there’s been massive resistance to covering contraception in insurance plans, and it LOOKS like Congress made a gross display of sexism by only having a group of old white men talk about women’s health, but that’s all meant to distract you!

I need to go get some more foil for my hat. It’s starting to fall apart.

  47. @Crumb

Check out these “gems” from the Spearhead article on the subject hxxp://www.the-spearhead.com/2012/03/03/rush-misses-point-in-slut-controversy/

    @ Ryu

    I like your solution.

    And by the way, I have a 4th solution…
In feminist countries, sterilize all females at birth.

    This will fix ALL problems..

    LOL!!!

    Like or Dislike: 1 1

Castrate men in western countries LOL!!!

    This will fix ALL problems..

    See what I did there?

    Aharon March 3, 2012 at 10:34

“In the feminist utopia, women can have and do whatever they please without having to work for it, pay for it or suffer any inconvenience whatsoever because of it. This is the feminist movement in a nutshell. It’s all about infinite options and zero responsibility.”

Wow. That went right to the core of what feminism is about. Make every womyn a princess.

I don’t think womyn should be paid to take that shot quarterly. I think she should be denied law school loans and any social support if she gets pregnant.

    Like or Dislike: 0 0

Punishing women and making them suffer. That is the goal of the MRM.

Feminist governance is simply their term for something that is stopping them from enslaving and punishing women.

  48. Wait, women shouldn’t have birth control and should be punished for getting pregnant?

Also, rrrrrrggaaarrrghhh at everyone saying “paid to take birth control” or “paid to have sex” or whatever. She’s paying into a health plan! She’s not getting money for birth control, she’s getting her own money back for her birth control!

  49. @Holly

I know, it’s the same BS argument as “birth control will make students have sex!”

And once again I ask….why is okay for men’s viagra and vasectomies to be covered but not women’s birth control?

  50. and of course the “ignorant close your legs” comments.

    a) people are going to have sex. If they are going to have sex, why not do it responsibly?

    b) why is the onus on women to always “close their legs” do men not want sex? I’ve been led to believe by other men that men want it MORE than women do.

    c) non affordable birth control = more unwanted babies and abortions. If abortion is still around.

  51. I really don’t even understand why these guys would be against birth control. It must just be the lady-hatin’ knee-jerk.

I mean, most of them want to have PIV sex with women, right?
And most of them don’t want a baby (ZOMG CHILD SUPPORT) unless they decide there should be a baby, right?

How do you expect that to happen?

I mean, obviously the answer is they don’t. They expect women to give them sex when and how they want it and they expect women to suffer for it.

  52. Hey MRAs? keep dreaming. If society collapses (which it most likely wont and if it does its not because the wimminz got out of line) you’re going down like everybody else. You are not special no matter how much you think you are. Get over yourselves.

    This.
I have the unfortunate tendency to get into conversations with arrogant braggadocios who think that the world is overpopulated and that it would be better if there were several billion people less. What they mean is that if there were several billion of those OTHER people less (e.i nonwhite). :|

Why are you so ready for the idea of some disease wiping out 50% of the population? Besides billions of human deaths would be tragic, you’re arrogant enough to think you will survive?

This follows the idea of people who believe they reincarnated from Cleopatra or Caesar; someone famous and influential. If you’re in a lower class now with little influence, then hundreds of years ago you were probably one of those bi/millions people in the lower class.

  53. I think the apocalyptic fantasies have to do with wishing for a more dangerous, uncivilized world in which the male aptitude for violence would be valued, and the hope that this would restore gender relations to a more primitive state. It’s a fantasy about females being dependent on males for meeting basic needs. Essentially, a fantasy about returning to the bad old days.

Or perhaps it just reflects a frustration with their inability to adapt to a changing society. Or maybe it’s a “that would show ‘em” line of thinking.

  54. Also, rrrrrrggaaarrrghhh at everyone saying “paid to take birth control” or “paid to have sex” or whatever. She’s paying into a health plan! She’s not getting money for birth control, she’s getting her own money back for her birth control!

I know! It reminds me of all the wanking about unemployment benefits. They paid into the system and now they want the benefits they paid for? How dare they!

You know what really does bug me? Paying banks to follow regulations. Especially since when they inevitably still don’t follow the regulations, they keep collecting the incentives for years and just get a warning that next time they might lose them if they don’t improve. The rest of us have to follow rules without getting paid for it.

  55. @Astazha

I don’t think it’s an either/or situation, but rather, all three apply.

    And by the way, I have a 4th solution…
In feminist countries, sterilize all females at birth.

    This will fix ALL problems..

    LOL!!!

This stalwart tower of intelligence does understand that “sterilizing all females at birth” means that the men can’t reproduce either right?

  56. I think the apocalyptic fantasies have to do with wishing for a more dangerous, uncivilized world in which the male aptitude for violence would be valued, and the hope that this would restore gender relations to a more primitive state.

    I think it’s about:

    A) Fantasizing that they, personally, have an aptitude for violence, even though they’re scared of pain and don’t work out and can’t throw a punch–but surely they’d turn into burly, competent, fearless warriors instantly upon the collapse of society, right?

    B) Fantasizing that they’d be free from all their boring daily responsibilities, because they don’t realize that “getting food in a massive worldwide famine” and “not getting killed in massive worldwide chaos” would be not just unpleasant and constant responsibilities, but most of the time extremely boring.

  57. Shadow – I think the idea is that they can reproduce with women from other countries.

(Who will all be available and glad to have them, because we all know that Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and South America are just full of perfectly submissive perfectly sexy women who want nothing more than a white guy to serve.)

This. So much. I mean it is in the benefit of men who don’t want children that a woman takes a pill that prevents children from being born. But as usual it’s a zero sum game. If women get something that automatically means men lose something.

Then there’s the MRAs who say men have no birth control options so women/feminists should shut up. How the hell does that help? so now they should make it even harder for women to get birth control even if it benefits them in the long run?

Or how about demanding male birth control instead of being misogynists online all day. This feminist backs you up on health insurance covered male birth control!

  59. @ersatzmoons

I think it’s just narcissism. The belief that they’re just better and more important people than everyone else.

Personally I think we are overpopulated…well it’s more that we are really bleeding our resources dry. But to wish for a bunch of people to be wiped out? that’s just a really shitty thing to hope for.

  60. @Holly

That thought did cross my mind but I thought that those racist fucks would bemoan the death of the white race (or the WASP race rather) as they know it. I forgot that they were the OTHER kind of racist fucks.

  61. The reincarnation idea does seem to come directly from narcissism, but the eliminating a large segment of the world population always seems to appear with some racist undertones.

  62. Shadow – I think the idea is that they can reproduce with women from other countries.

(Who will all be available and glad to have them, because we all know that Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and South America are just full of perfectly submissive perfectly sexy women who want nothing more than a white guy to serve.)

And even if they were, there would be a little supply/demand problem if you suddenly added 100 million extra men. The MRM: it’s for people who are bad at math.

  63. “But as usual it’s a zero sum game. If women get something that automatically means men lose something.”

I think this misunderstanding, more than anything else, is at the root of gender related strife, particularly opposition to feminism.

  64. Oh, and it looks like everyone is using some kind of reply function that pastes the quoted text in italicized; I don’t see a button for that. I’m using Chrome if that matters.

  65. @Astazha, you can use the tag(blockquote) to start a quote and (/blockquote) to end it. Just replace the brackets with greater-than/less-than signs. :)

  66. CassandraSays

Do we need to start posting excerpts from Collapse to help these guys understand how unrealistic their visions of the future are?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collapse:_How_Societies_Choose_to_Fail_or_Succeed

When societies collapse, it does indeed suck for everyone. It sucks much worse than anything these guys are imagining, given that they think it’s about equivalent in terms of suffering to having to live with the existence of VAWA and having to pay child support.
