Misogyny to the Maxd: Women are “liabilities in our technological culture.” Also, they’re fat.

Eeerything started going to hell when we let them wear bloomers and ride bicycles.

Oh boy. Over on The Spearhead, the good old trusty Spearhead, a fella called Rmaxd has some bold new ideas to share with the world.

Well, they’re not really new, or bold, or true, and some of them kind of seem to contradict each other. But they are, indisputably, ideas. And because he’s a dude, they’re automatically good, because dudes are the dynamic, creative force behind all historical progress. So it’s no wonder this comment of his got more than two dozen upvotes.

Rmaxd starts off by addressing the manginas of the world, and every man who might be considering the benefits of manginahood:

Grow some balls, be masculine, & these so called feminists have zero power

Because NATURE.

We always revert to our biology & nature, over idealism, this is why feminism is dead in the water

And NATURE says women should stay home and cook and pop out babies.

Women in our society are so fucked up, precisely because they rejected their biological need to be part of a society, through their children, husbands & a family

It’s time for a little thought experiment.

Imagine if men were no longer engineers & soldiers & scientists, imagine the biological havoc they would cause on society, all that intellectual brilliance channelled on society, on the loss of their biological roles, instead of as engineers, soldiers & scientists

I’m having a little bit of a hard time imagining, because that doesn’t make any fucking sense. Is he suggesting that the world would collapse if more dudes stayed home and tended the kids?

But never mind, because Rmaxd is on to his next point, which is that women are terrible at math and this makes them OBSOLETE!

In a technology based society, women are the first to be discarded, their lack of scientific & mathematical skills are a liability to our technological culture

Also, they’re lazy and don’t invent shit. Even though by keeping them at home and denying them education the men of the world gave them ample opportunity to invent all sorts of shit, they chose instead to sit on their fat asses and eat bon bons.

Women have in fact been stayathome moms for centuries, theyve NEVER had to work for centuries, they have now had centuries of shelter & protection from corporations, theyve had massive amounts of leisure, in fact more leisure then most working males through out history

& what did women do with that leisure, with all that time & opportunity to progress science?

Women became biological luddites, they became entitled, inbred & backwards & technologically liabilities in our present technologically based age

When women should’ve been developing technologies to makeup for their inability to logic & reason, in the same way men developed music & art in order for men to experience emotions, all they did was call for young men to destroying their own futures, to be used as walking wallets & chattle

You can tell how innovative Rmaxd is, because he’s totally just innovated a new way to spell “chattel.”

Anyway, QED, fuck women.

Women are liabilities, we no longer need women to maintain our social networks, we have everything from mobile phones to the internet

Huh. Declaring half of humanity expendable. I was under the impression that MRA dudes considered that sort of thinking to be the equivalent of committing GENOCIDE. Seems some of them were making a big stink about that the other day, when a couple of ladies made some similar remarks about men.

Weird. Because MRA dudes are upvoting this, instead of gathering together in angry mobs on the internet to EXPOSE this dude’s personal information and talk about Fucking His Shit Up.

Never mind, though, because Rmaxd isn’t done with his case against ladies.

We no longer need them to maintain morality, as theyre incapable of morality, a womans ability to destroy herself, in the same fat women destroy their own bodies, is unprecedented, give a woman enough leisure & freetime, & all she’s capable of is how to enslave all of society, to ensure society does the same for women everywhere, irrespective of the results

Damn. So women getting fat is part of a sinister plot to enslave mankind?

This all sounds pretty dire for us civilization-creating dudes.

Happily, as Rmaxd explains in another comment, the ladies are so crazily self-destructive that they will fail in their evil designs, despite “being bankrolled by the rich upper class.” Just like the evil radical blacks back in the 1970s:

[W]omen are following the black activism handbook of the 70′s. …

[N]ear the end of the black movement, as the more mainstream, publicly accepted part of black militancy was rejected & debunked, the more radical components of the movement, began attacking its own supporters, in particular the white supporters of black rights, & they also started attacking blacks who were sympathetic to white males

We see the exact same thing happening with feminism, as the more popular & acceptable parts of feminism have now been rejected by popular culture, ie the colossal failure of stayathome dads

Because nothing is more evil and against NATURE than stay-at-home dads! It’s like sodomy squared.

Anyway, the evil ladies are doomed.

They now start becoming more radical, their antagonism & alienation of men, especially manginas & feminists will inevitably destroy them

As we all know women & especially special rights movements, are always self destructive, as the solutions are never radical enough.

So back to the homes, ladies, where you can return to fulfilling NATURE’s role for the females of the species: sitting on your fat asses and eating bon bons and being terrible at math. Because that is nature’s way.

I had a

  1. MRAL, cut the shit. Thank you.

What exactly has Rmaxd done besides being born male and sitting in front of a computer? I thought so.

    “His example is Joni Mitchell”

Out of all the female musicians out there, Joni Mitchell is his pick? Seriously? Brilliant lyricist, but dull.

  2. @Joanna

While I don’t think there’s a universal line that all women should adhere to, if you find yourself realising that you are as intelligent as (or, heaven forbid, even more intelligent than) the man that you are currently interacting with, it is your moral duty as a woman, and a decent human being, to stop the interaction right away, find a crayon and jam it up your nose and into your brain. Of course a truly good woman would always come prepared with a crayon, but would never even dare to imagine that she would ever, ever use it (kinda like a condom actually).

    @David

*does a double take and blinks slowly* I guess you really CAN’T make this shit up!!

  3. The idea that women have always been stay at home moms shows an appalling lack of historical knowledge. Most women throughout history have worked, many of them at trades that could be practiced at home such as weaving, sewing, farming, etc, but many of them outside the home as servants, factory workers, shopkeepers, etc. For that matter some of the wealthiest women in the US during the 19th century were brothel owners. Not having to work was a sign of prosperity, only the rich and upper middle class could afford it prior to the mid-20th century when that trickled down to the rest of the middle class (it’s never been an option for poor women).

  4. Men's Rights Activist Lieutenant

I’m not trolling, I said something fairly innocuous and then Ray jumps all over me.

  5. The funny thing about dishwashers is a man invented one but it was slow and you had to turn it with a crank. It didn’t do well until Josephine Cochrane improved it and all modern dishwashers descended from her version.

But I already know what MRAs will say to that one “of course a woman invented a dishwasher cuz they belong in the kitchen amirite bros? hurrdurrrhurrrr!”

Next time they pull this “men invent shit therefore I invent shit” argument out of their asses, just ask them what inventions THEY created? and no, being dickbags on the internet doesn’t count.

  6. They didn’t even invent being dickbags.

  7. “being dickbags on the internet doesn’t count.”

I think the first internet troll was a dude actually.

@Shadow: Aw, but I like intellectual conversations with my boyfriend. Otherwise we wouldn’t have anything to talk about. Apart from sex maybe.

  8. Joanna,

She loves taking naps on that shoulder more than just about anything. In that picture you are far from the the first to think that. :)

    Coincidentally her name is Ada.

  9. Men's Rights Activist Lieutenant

And by the way, Ray, 95% of inventions have been manvented or womanvented in the past, oh, five hundred years. This is the age of technological revolution, after all. The earliest few hundred thousand years was mostly a slow burn. Agriculture?

  10. Just say “invented,” MRAL.

  11. Yeah, the wheel, using sticks/bones as tools, using fire as a tool, cooking food, knitting, sewing, fashioning clothings/shoes/etc., all of that stuff, totally unrevolutionary.

  12. Telling time, having a calendar, domesticating animals, language, written language, building shelters, agriculture…

  13. Also:

In a technology based society, women are the first to be discarded, their lack of scientific & mathematical skills are a liability to our technological culture

Hasn’t this been disproved often enough already?

  14. Creating leather, making bronze, chariots, armor, knives, arrowheads, pans, irrigation…

  15. Woah, Melanie Chartoff is an inventor? That Melanie Chartoff? I had a giant crush on her when she was on Fridays.

    Yes, I am old.

  16. Music, literature, cave paintings, weaving…

  17. Also I kind of agree with MRAL’s first comment, but it does not mean that there still weren’t many female inventors, and I do think girls being trained from childhood to marry and have children while being denied higher education had a little something to do with it. And as usual any women’s work is completely devalued by misogynists and sexists. Who cares about raising children, farming, cooking and sewing clothes right? those things just pop out of thin air!

It makes me wonder why the attitude of “women can’t/don’t” invent is prevalent though. Maybe we need to do more to expose prominent female inventors. Teach about them in schools. I didn’t even know about Ada Lovelace or Grace Hopper until about a year or two ago. At least with the internet we can learn about all the women that invented and who contributed to STEM.

  18. “Women & especially special rights movements” – in all seriousness, WTF is he even trying to say there?

I think he means “them faggots”.

The myth that being gay is self-destructive plus the whole equal rights for gay people is “special rights”. I’m sure there’s some overlap since there almost always is with homophobia and misogyny, but that’s the impression I got.

    ***

MRAL, I’m ok with saying “most known inventors” were male, assuming it’s true, but I really don’t see how we can feel justified in making sweeping statements about this over the the entire course of human history. I know that we all like to think that our cultural is typical of all human cultures from the beginning of, I don’t know, tool use in primates. But that doesn’t make it so.

It’s an argument from ignorance (we don’t know, therefore…) using a faulty assumption (all cultures are like ours and always have been) as a basis. Educated guess are acceptable, of course. But I don’t think that’s what you’re doing here. Mostly because I suspect you probably know even less about anthropology than I do.

Also, males (at least the last I heard- and I know this research is fraught with problems but since it’s virtually the same that the MRA’s like to use, I’m running with it…) show a greater degree of variability in their intelligence. Which means they are also more numerous at the low end of the scale.

Never see them bragging about that little XY gem, though, do we?

  19. Yeah, that Melanie Chartoff. I know her best as Didi on Rugrats (I was born in ’89).

Government, society, social class, etiquette, warfare…

  20. Men's Rights Activist Lieutenant

Look, no matter what you can name, the fact is that there has undeniably been an explosion in the modern era. I don’t even really know what I’m arguing anymore. I agree this max dude is a dumbass.

  21. Blacksmithing, saddles, reins, the plow, shields, spears, surgery, bandages…

  22. @Kollege Messerschmitt: While I <3 programming, I blame my average math ability on my genes. I seem to inherit a lot from my dad's side of the family who are all pretty meh at math and are better at art, music and literature.

  23. To be fair, fire wasn’t invented. It was given to us by a (male) Titan.

  24. Didn’t I read something somewhere that said there were mixed sex hunting parties back in the cave people days? What? Did they lose their “We hunted the mammoth!!!!1111!!!” and have to fall back on this?

  25. Men's Rights Activist Lieutenant

That’s right, fire was a mansent, bestowed by a mangod.

  26. Titans aren’t gods, dude. I mean, they had a war with them and everything.

(Speaking of, has anyone ever pointing out to MRAs that Hera totally had kids without Zeus? I bet they’d be real thrilled about that.)

  27. @David

    http://www.imprint.co.uk/books/TWR.html

WHOA!! This dude is just a fountain of WTFery! On the plus side, I tried to wiki and found no mention of him or his books anywhere

  28. And let’s not forget, pretty much all cuisine and cooking techniques were invented before the modern era…

  29. (Speaking of, has anyone ever pointing out to MRAs that Hera totally had kids without Zeus? I bet they’d be real thrilled about that.)

    Zeus was a cuckolded Mangina!

    Wait…

  30. And if you called these guys misogynists, they’d still throw a hissy fit.

  31. The foundations of art (painting, sculpting, perspective, shading, etc.) are also very old. So are musical scales, architecture, anatomy, biology, chemistry, physics, trigonometry, geometry, calculus, algebra, pretty much all of mathematics, grammar…

  32. And Hera got pregnant from eating lettuce, a food men believed they should avoid in Ancient Greece because it would make them sterile!

Bitches, gaining from what men can’t have.

  33. @Joanna
“Aw, but I like intellectual conversations with my boyfriend. Otherwise we wouldn’t have anything to talk about. Apart from sex maybe.”

I’m not sure if I’m supposed to tell you that your boyfriend probably doesn’t, or if I’m supposed to scoff at the very idea of you having an intellectual conversation. More research must be performed on this important matter. Please make me a sandwich whilst I contemplate these paradigm-shifting questions. What do you mean make my own?!!!! See this is why we don’t have our flying cars!!!

  34. I hate to agree with him but MRAL is almost certainly right that a higher percentage of inventions were developed by men than women. This however is because women were largely denied the opportunities and education necessary, and those who did manage to fight through entrenched sexism (for example Lise Meitner) were often discounted or had their work outright stolen by male colleagues.

Also I think it’s fairly well established that there is an accelerating rate of technological advancement, especially since the Industrial Revolution. However that doesn’t mean inventions prior to then aren’t important, agriculture is probably the single most important invention in history (even more than fire, money, or writing).

  35. I dunno, guys, I think that saying “women did too invent lots of important things,” while true, tends to erase women’s historical oppression. Throughout most of history, almost all of the educated people who had leisure time to invent and discover and create were, in fact, male. This isn’t to say that women didn’t invent, discover, and create things (after all, to quote Virginia Woolf, Anonymous was a woman), just that there was and is a huge amount of systematic oppression bent on keeping women from doing it and that we do have proportionally few discoveries, inventions, and creations by women.

However, when women had opportunities, they showed themselves to be as talented as any man (Hypatia of Alexandra, bitches! Aspasja!).

  36. Religion, atheism, philosophy, flight, trains, steam engines, boats, the telephone…

Yeah, a lot of stuff may have been invented in our era, but compared to the shitload of things created before our time, it’s really not all that much.

  37. Shadow, yep, Moxon is a real treat.

And that glowing blurb from Warren Farrell on that page helps to cement his reputation as a douchebag.

  38. Who invented burritos?

    Because they rock.

  39. @ozy: I totally agree that women have been oppressed and therefore unable to invent/take credit for their inventions throughout history, thus leading to less inventions/discoveries/etc. by women.

It was just MRAL’s phrasing of “important” inventions that I was disputing. Women have had less inventions, but what they have made is just as important.

  40. Men's Rights Activist Lieutenant

Ok, there WAS, Ozymandias, I don’t think there is anymore. The wimmin makes up 60 PER SENT of collegers.

  41. “Who invented burritos?”

    Mexicans? =P

  42. “See this is why we don’t have our flying cars!!!”

We have flying cars already. They’re called airplanes.

  43. Men's Rights Activist Lieutenant

One part of feminism that really chaps my brown asshole is the tendency- much like MRAs- to “ride the coattails” of dead women, except it’s their victimization, rather than their awesomeness, claimed.

  44. Nonsense, Joanna, airplanes are clearly flying buses or train cars!

    Whatdoyoumeanthereareairplanesthatonlyseatoneortwopeopledon’ttrytodragfactsintothis.

  45. @ Lauralot

Well, technically I think Hera had Hephaestus without Zeus, but he was a deformed cripple as a result. So even for the gods both man-bits and lady-bits are a useful combination.

  46. One part of feminism that really chaps my brown asshole is the tendency- much like MRAs- to “ride the coattails” of dead women, except it’s their victimization, rather than their awesomeness, claimed.

And where has this happened in this thread?

Saying women have been oppressed through history isn’t “riding [their] coattails.” It’s just, you know, staying true to history.

  47. Lauralot: Yes, but “before our era” is also a whole fuckton bigger than our era. Homo sapiens has been around for 250,000 years. The Industrial Revolution has been around for 250 years. A whole lot more than 1/100,000 of the inventions that have been invented have been invented since the Industrial Revolution, even if it’s less than 95% as MRAL said. I think it’s fair to say that there’s been a huge explosion in the number of inventions invented recently.

MRAL, because you were trolling for so long, people are going to assume you’re trolling and treat you as a troll, regardless of whether you actually are trying to make reasonable points. Consider it a consequence of your actions. :)

  48. 1/1,000, I mean. I can math…

  49. I started using a computer before anyone I personally know. I now manage a wesbite, which requires that I write the stories, publish the content to SEO specifications, onput HTML tags, etc. Wow, I must be a freak!

This may be a little off-topic, but I have an aunt who’s 72, and not the sharpest knife in the drawer. She once told me (when I was single) that men are threatened by intelligent women and that I should pretend to be dumb to land a man! Yes, then I could have wound up with an MRA who would have had me chained to the stove. (I happen to love to cook, but you catch my drift.) It’s amazing how many people, even women, still think this way.

  50. “See this is why we don’t have our flying cars!!!”

We have flying cars already. They’re called airplanes.

Not exactly, until airplanes are as inexpensive to buy and can be parked easily at home they aren’t really flying cars. Ultralights come close but they make Ford Pintos look safe.

  51. Opps, blockquote fail.

  52. MRAL, there’s still significant discrimination against women in STEM fields, particularly in the higher levels. That isn’t affected by the fact that girls outachieve boys in most of the educational system, and we need to figure out why that is and get the boys up to snuff. Both/and, dude, both/and.

  53. “I’m not trolling, I said something provably wrong and then Ray engaged me about it by asking me to back up my assertions.”

    MRAL,

    I fixed that for you.

  54. @David

True dat. My favorite is the quote from the journalist “not so much racist as a visionary”. someone needs to put dude on to the long and rich traditions and history of the “Go back to X” movement

  55. @Joanna
“We have flying cars already. They’re called airplanes.”

    Dear God I hope not!!!!

  56. “Not exactly, until airplanes are as inexpensive to buy and can be parked easily at home they aren’t really flying cars. Ultralights come close but they make Ford Pintos look safe.”

Well there are personal planes. When you strip away the wings and propellers you get something roughly car sized. Unfortunately all that stuff is needed to get the thing off the ground. To mention the serious fuel that’s required.

  57. Anti-feminists agenda is to twist things around and make it seem like everything is just fine and dandy and women have it so great and everything is equal or more equal because they want to keep their privilege in tact so that only male voices are heard.

But then you have incidents like yesterday’s Reddit debacle where a 15 year old was sent rape threats and had demeaning sexual comments aimed at her because she dared to show her face while holding up a book on the internet.

This is why feminism is still needed. We recognize women’s oppression in history not to “ride on coattails” but because society still has some fucked up views about women. Really, that incident suggested women wear e-burquas so the menz won’t be tempted to leave nasty comments. This sounds like an equal, woman friendly society?

  58. By which I mean, I hope that’s not the culmination of the flying car dream, not that I hope there are no aeroplanes :$ I’m still holding out for my flying diablo (or more realistically, my flying camry)

    @Noadi

    The dream lives on!!!

  59. @Kollege Messerschmitt: While I <3 programming, I blame my average math ability on my genes. I seem to inherit a lot from my dad's side of the family who are all pretty meh at math and are better at art, music and literature.

Believe me, I can relate ): My math skills are also pretty average, even though my mom was really good at math and natural sciences (she was a graduate engineer). But from what I observed, it’s often the case that a person is either better at math/natural sciences or better at literature/linguistics (I’m just gonna ignore the few lucky bastards who are good at both, because fuck them! /is petty).
Also seconding the programming love! It may be a bit harder for the less mathematically gifted, but it doesn’t make it any less fun and fulfilling, imho!

  60. Men's Rights Activist Lieutenant

Ok, Ozy, I hear you, cautiously, as long as we don’t forget that gender and education is not a one-way street. I feel like it’s treated that way sometimes.

  61. Holly: “If men are so awesome, how did they let this happen? You’d think that people who are naturally meant to be dominant would figure out how to, you know, be dominant.”

They’d probably blame the manginas for letting feminism take over the world. Manginas like myself only tolerate feminism in order to get access to sweet feminist pussy, and because of that promise, we’ve been brainwashed.

I’m basing this answer off a composte of MRA comments I’ve seen, some in response to Futrelle’s Youtube videos.

  62. composite*

  63. Men's Rights Activist Lieutenant

Also, I think I can be determined to be trolling based on… whether I am trolling or not. My posts here clearly are not.

  64. “Manginas like myself only tolerate feminism in order to get access to sweet feminist pussy”

If they want pussy so bad, why don’t they pretend to be manginas? I don’t think I’ve heard that one from the PUA bag of tricks.

  65. @Crumbelievable: I can’t believe I forgot the “Hypno-Vagina” defense.

  66. @MRAL: Not saying “manvented” and the like would probably help to let people know you’re serious.

  67. I really don’t believe MRAL was trolling this time round. Cut him a leeetle slack you guys =)

  68. It’s not that no one’s working on flying cars. We’re just not quite there yet.

Although, I’m not sure I want flying machines in the hands of the ordinary public, for reasons thisMitchell and Webb sketch about jetpacks demonstrate.

In terms of female artists from history, Artemisia Gentileschi is a good case to look at. She was lucky, in that her father was an accomplished artist which enabled her to have the training most young women wouldn’t get. She unfortunately also got raped by one of her art tutors, and the subsequent trial was a big scandal in her time.

  69. Spearhafoc, that flying car looks like something out of the Jetsons. I can’t imagine that it would be altogether mainstream for maybe a few decades considering safety measures and rules of the… air (?) need to be drawn.

  70. What I want is those hoverboards from the second Back to the Future. And the automatic lacing shoes. Get on it, Nike, 2015’s coming up.
